Sitting Bench and Morgan certainly didn't affect run production in the 2nd game.

Cesar Geronimo -- a double and 3 singles
Pete Rose -- 2 doubles and a single
Ken Griffey -- a double and a single
George Foster -- 2 singles
Dave Concepcion -- a HR and a single
Doug Flynn -- a triple and a single

Also, Champ Summers hit a PH homer.

He doesn't know it, but Doug Flynn is 3 days away from being traded to the NY Mets in the Tom Seaver trade.

Wow.

I really mean WOW.

Larry Bitttner, cleanup? I didn't remember that at all (I was 9 at the time.)

Just wow.

BTW - very cool idea for a topic. I don't often look at the game threads so I've missed this in the past. Cool stuff.

I figure if I was still a Reds fan even after that season, I've got the bug for life.

Crazy world

He had 5 ABs in the leadoff spot and 6 at #2 that year. The more things change...
