Matt Ogrodnik wasn't a draft pick so I didn't think I should post it in the Reds draft pick thread.
Two Nittany Lions agree to contracts
From CDT staff reports
Two more Penn State players have agreed to professional contracts including one who was expected to play a major part in the program's 2008 plans.
Pitcher/shortstop Scott Gaffney and reliever Matt Ogrodnik have agreed to terms with the Cincinnati Reds. The Reds selected Gaffney in the 12th round of last week's Major League Baseball Draft while the organization signed Ogrodnik as a non-drafted free agent.
Gaffney's signing means he will bypass his final year of eligibility with the Nittany Lions. Gaffney spent two years as the starting shortstop and hit .265 with five homers and 18 RBIs this past season but he attracted interest from scouts as a pitcher. Gaffney went 2-3 with a 3.76 ERA and 35 strikeouts in 402/3 innings during his junior season.
Ogrodnik, a left-hander, set the single-season school record for appearances as a junior and senior. He went 4-3 with a 2.30 ERA in 28 appearances this past season. He allowed just 23 earned runs in 89 career innings.
Gaffney and Ogrodnik will likely begin their careers with the Reds' rookie affiliate in Billings, Mont.
The list of potential State College Spikes continued to grow Wednesday as the Pittsburgh Pirates signed six more draft picks. The group included fourth-rounder Quincy Latimore of Middle Creek (N.C.) High School and outfielder Keamon Simon, a 25th-round draft pick who helped Oklahoma State advance to an NCAA Super Regional.
The Pirates also signed Oklahoma City Community College shortstop Robert Spain (19th round), Northwestern second baseman Caleb Fields (33rd), Palatine (Ill.) High School catcher Andrew Biela (13th) and Pearl River (N.Y.) High School pitcher Sean Giblin (10th)
The Pirates have signed 19 players selected in the draft. The players are currently participating in a rookie minicamp in Bradenton, Fla. The Pirates signed Penn State infielder Matt Cavagnaro and pitcher Gary Amato earlier this week.

*edit* Does anyone have a scouting report on him?
