This from C. Trent. Looks like Guardado will not be back any time soon.

Guardado has been returned from his rehab assignment.

He has been nagged by a stiff lower back.

Well, there goes the season. ;)The savior isn't coming? I'm crushed.

He has been nagged by a stiff lower back.... and an 85 mph "fastball"

This is a blessing in disguise. Everyday Eddie just doesn't have a place in this bullpen. We're trying to get better for next year... playing Eddie at all won't accomplish that feat.

I agree. Everyday Eddie is a band-aid on a gaping wound.

Earlier in the year, when I thought we had a chance, I would have been disappointed.
But now that it is no longer January, my reaction is "meh."

Seems to me that he was rushing his comeback, needs to take it slow so a he can play for someone next year.

I slightly disagree. I'm not much of a "veteran" type of guy. But from what I have heard, Eddie is very good and hands on with the young guys. They should just keep him on the DL but have him sit in the pen everyday.

I was kind of hoping he'd come back just in time to be shined up for a deadline deal. Oh well.
