I think Johnny Cueto is a more polished pitcher then Homer, and I've been saying it for two years.

That's sad.

A lot of guys are more polished than Homer. What that has to do with anything, I still don't know though.

It has do to with why Homer should be pitching in Louisville.

Cueto: 6 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 11 K.

He struckout the first batter in the sixth, which was his fourth consecutive strikeout. The final two batters grounded out. Along with the 11 K's, Cueto had a 5-2 GO/FO ratio. Great game for Johnny.

That's awesome. If we could get Brian Matusz in the draft next year, Bailey, Cueto and Matusz could be like Maddux, Smoltz and Glavine for many years to come.

Well, at least if the Reds keep playing this poorly, they can have anybody in the draft they want.

That should be Johnny's last inning. Check out Cueto's numbers through two starts at Chattanooga:

13 IP, 8 H, 1 R, 3 BB, 19 K.

For the year he has 97 strikeouts in 96.1 IP.

I doubt Cueto is anymore ready than Bailey, if Cueto pitched in the majors, he would be rocked like Bailey. Cueto has struckout more than Homer Bailey in a game.

I dont think anyone was talking about him pitching in the majors this year. Next year, but especially the year after (2009), however, may be a different story- especially if he keeps this up...

I'll be surprised, unless he gets injured, if he doesn't make his debut in 2008.

debut I agree with, but I wouldn't pencil him in to the permanent rotation until 2009. Just like I wouldn't permanently pencil Homer in until next year. I think Cueto next year will be the Homer of this year, if that makes sense.
