I don't know if any of you guys have picked up on this, but I've noticed that our bullpen isn't very good.

I've got an eye for these kind of details.

That is all.

That's Ebert and Roeper on the Cincy bullpen.

BRilLiANt!

Thanks.

I watch a lot of games, and I knew something was up. I just haven't been able to put my finger on it.

Then tonight, it hit me. One of those moments of profound revelation. You know, kinda like "hey, that stovetop gets really hot" or "gee, those potholders aren't just for sissies".

And I said to myself... "self, our bullpen isn't very good". And I immediately thought I should come on here and share this theory with you guys.

Are you sure? Do you have anything to back this up, or is it just a hunch.

I don't want to get all technical on you, or anything.

So, let's just say it's a hunch. That would save me a lot of trouble scanning my charts and graphs, and stuff.

Well surprise surprise.

FWIW, only one guy showed any ability out there tonight from a future standpoint. Coffey needs to be deep sixed for the rest of the season for whatever reason it is(loss of confidence or injury). He is a joke about everytime he pitches and needs to be saved from that.

On the bright side (I had to look hard to find it)... :p:

* The bullpen had a 7-1 record in July. They are 1-0 in August. They are 8-2 in their last 10 decisions.
>> Guess a W-L record can be deceiving...

* The last time the REDS lost a game with a blown save was June 29. That was 31 games ago. They have won the game the last 6 times they had a blown save.
>> Blown saves are NOT a good thing...

Well, it's official. RFS has entered the early stages of dementia.

They'll be fine once Guardado and Bray get back.

This bullpen is not good enough to be terrible. Everytime the opposition comes to the plate it looks like this....

I hadn't noticed. Usually things seem to be going so swimmingly that I turn the game off by the seventh inning. I couldn't tell you what happens after that.

Boy, why didn't I think of that.

If you did that, and never looked at the standings or box scores, we'd be much happier around here.

We play a pretty solid 6-7 inning game. ;)

Maybe the Reds need to join a modified league, or something.

Lets get MLB to shorten games, it'll help with the 3 hours+ games they seem to hate, everybody wins :D
