Turk Farrell pitched 12 shutout innings for the Colt 45's before he was lifted. I'm sure the Reds were glad to see someone else. I would have loved to have seen this game. I love pitching duels like this one was.

Bob Purkey threw 10 shutout innings, as well. Both starters pitched 10+ shutout innings in the same game! I like this style, too. But we will never see it again--people would complain too much about pitch counts.
