Cubszone must have been in an uproar with Ernie Banks batting sixth. :)

Seems like the Reds play the Dodgers a lot at this time of the year.

They always seem to play the west coast a lot at the beginning of August, whether home or away. The Kahn's baseball card day was always in early August when I was growing up so we went to a ton of these games.

Seems like the Reds play the Dodgers a lot at this time of the year.

It always seemed back in the 70's and 80's the Reds and Dodgers never played against each other until about mid June. Then they had to squeeze in 18 games against each other in 3 1/2 month time frame. Why it was like that, I really have no idea.

Still one of my favorite nicknames of all time. I have his baseball card and used to have it framed on my wall (in my bachelor days).

There aren't many good nicknames any more.
