Jack Billingham pitched a six-hit shutout to get the win for the Reds.

Bench at third today. He was in RF yesterday and for a few games preceing that one. I'm assuming he was hurting too much to catch. Unless Plummer was on some torrid hitting streak. :D
Just noticed, Tim McCarver leading off??????
This was a day of strange leadoff hitter for other teams. Besides McCarver their was Clemente for the Pirates in the 57 game and Bonds for Pirates in the 87 game. I think Bonds did lead off many times in his early years before his head doubled in size and slowed him down.

Better than the '82 lineup! :D

Look at the Colt 45's lineup for the 62 game. Talk about a bad lineup. Johnny Temple batting third speaks volumes about that team.
