I was thinking about making a RedsZone league.

We had one last year but only hand 5 or 6 teams and only a few managers were active troughout.

Would there be more interest this season? If so, I'd be pelased to get one going.

I live my life like its a fantasy, so I'm game for one more dream. :)

I'll join again. But with at least 8 teams.

Patrick Bateman

That's 3, and I could probably get my brother to join, so 4.

4 more people interested? Or I'm not going to bother.

I was in last year. I agree, only 6 of the 8 were active all year long.

I'll be in again. We should be able to get a few more. When should the draft be?

Joseph

I was terrible at it last year, does that count as inactive?

kheidg-

Don't think that counts. AK, if you can set up the league post the info on this thread. We should be able to get 8-10. Need to decide categories and draft date.

As one of the few remaining hockey fans in the US, I feel obligated to join. So I'm in.

Check the settings, if need be I'll change online draft time, I just had to choose some random date.

I'll sign up, soon as it lets me.

Patrick Bateman

Only 1 other person signed up! C'mon people. Hockey!

kheidg-

That is 5 people in so far. Hopefully we can get more within a few weeks.

I think settings are a bit odd - I like the center/lw/rw positions better. Also, can we have this draft during the week? Saturday night is not a good night for me.

What does everyone else thnk about these ideas? I need input from more than 1 person.

I also like it a little better w/actual positions (RW/C/LW) as opposed to just "Forward"

Another stat I am not wild about is the GWG. In theory, it's a fine stat, but a common complaint I saw in a league I was in a couple years back was that, if Buffalo (for example) wins 7-2, and Derek Roy happened to score that 3rd goal, he'd get credit for a GWG. It seemed kind of lame to me, but if no one else has a problem with it, I'm fine with it. I can't think of another stat I would rather have than GWG that we don't already have.

I agree with you Stewie, but I like to have lots of categories, and there are just limited options.

I'll change the forward positions at some point.

I don't have a problem with the GWG category. Not sure if they offer shootout points as a category? How about faceoffs?

I dropped out by accident. I'm signing back up. Still hoping for more than six though.

It would be nice to get to 10

Are you guys cool with the draft time, or would you prefer a different date.

Joseph

I'm likely to autodraft so time isn't an issue for me. :)

It's good for me.

I'd prefer a Tuesday or Thursday night.

But I can make this work if need be.

Patrick Bateman
09-21-2007, 09:44 PM
I have 2 people who prefer middle of the week now. I could do thrusday, but I'm not going to change it if lots of people are against the change.

So what do you guys think? The scheduled date or Thursday?

kheidg-

I say go for Thursday. Gives us more time to get a few extra people. Anyone know of friends/family that would sign up?

I know someone who I think will do it. He is a Cubs fan though.

And Sandy said she would join if we needed someone to even it out. If that happened we'd be up to 10.

We are at 9 as of now. Any news on the draft time/date?

You can change it if you want to. No objections here.

Patrick Bateman

Okay, so I changed the draft time to Thursday 8 Eastern Time

Damn find us 1 more heck even 11 more stooges(11 i Prefer) it makes deep knowledge a factor. As Ufc says lets get it on.

AK seriously I can rope in a few decent players but dang a 10 team league is chintzy lol, even the gray matter inclined can pick at least 14 players of adequate ability. Personally I welcome a competitive competition that makes you gnash your teeth at drafting errors.

I agree, but easier said than done.

My hockey knowledge isn't superior but I wouldn't be opposed to getting more people.

Like AK said though, easier said then done. Plus I'd rather have a league with 10 active owners, than 11 active and 3 nonactive.

We still need 1 more player.

I know of a guy who will take it if nobody else does, so it won't be a big deal.

What about stat categories?

What other options are there?

If possible can we have PPP (Power play points) rather than just PPG (power play goals). This gives power play assists some weight then too.

Also, what does everyone think of a faceoffs category?

Joseph
09-27-2007, 11:19 AM
I'm ok with a PPP, the face off category doesn't thrill me though.

NJReds
09-27-2007, 01:16 PM
I like PPP over PPG. Not crazy about face offs.

Patrick Bateman
09-27-2007, 01:31 PM
I hate face-offs, and I could consider PPP. I find that PPG ends up being more fun. Two of the other people in the league also prefer PPG over PPP.

Does anyone have a really, really strong opinion on this one?

Stewie
09-27-2007, 02:26 PM
Either PPP or PPG is fine with me. I don't care too much one way or the other. Honestly, I'd probably prefer PPG, but it doesn't matter

kheidg-

Is there a category for shootout goals?

Patrick Bateman
09-27-2007, 03:19 PM
Is there a category for shootout goals?

I don't think so.

kheidg-
09-27-2007, 04:09 PM
I don't think so.

Hmmm... there should be. Wonder what the logic Yahoo has for not having one. Maybe, if none of your teams go into OT shootout they don't want to put you at a disadvantage?

Is there some sort of glitch with the rosters? I'm trying to put a guy on IR [yes he's on the teams IR] and it won't let me.

I noticed that too. I switched back to the 'classic' roster edit menu instead of the drag and drop, and that worked.

Joseph

That worked, thanks. :)
