Valaika, Turner and Gutierrez all with one-out singles in the bottom of the 10th to lift Sarasota to a 5-4 in extras. Sarasota trailed 4-0 early, but 5 hitless innings in relief gave the lumber time a chance to come back and win. Denham and Medina were both excellent in relief.

Travis Chick is sticking it to the man tonight by limiting the man (represented by the Chattanooga lineup) to no runs on four hits through five. He has struck out the man nine times so far. Sam Lecure has tossed a quartet of goose eggs back in Chick's face.

On his way to St. Louis?

I would say that is great, but Votto deserves to go before, or at the same time. Imagine what that would do to Votto if Bruce got called before him.

Brandon Waring's homeruns are actually getting kind of lame at this point. #20 on the year.

Well, hitting with wooden bats doesn't seem to be a problem.

If memory serves, that's at least seven minor leaguers with 20 or more dingers on the year:
Herr
Votto
Bruce
Francisco
Rosales
Waring
Dorn

Is that right? Either way, serious power display by Red farmhands. Got to like at least at least four of those as probable major league regulars at this point.

How many HRs does Waring have in 2007?

How many HRs does Waring have in 2007?

Combining his college #'s and #'s from the Pioneer League, he has 47 HR in 2007.

Not quite, rosales and herr both have 18, but still very impressive.
