ST. LOUIS - Right-hander Marcus McBeth was the only Reds September call-up to come up Sept. 1. But more are on the way.

They'll arrive on Tuesday - the day after Triple-A Louisville's season ends.

"McBeth had been down there long enough," Reds general manager Wayne Krivsky said. "I asked Pete (Mackanin) if he could use another right-hander. He said that would be great."

Krivsky would not say how many more players would be arriving Tuesday.

"We want to tell the players first," he said.

It's likely several pitchers who had been with the Reds earlier will be back - Todd Coffey, Kirk Saarloos and Brad Salmon. Catcher Ryan Jorgensen and first baseman Joey Votto are likely to get a call.

All of those players are on the 40-man roster. The Reds also have an open spot, which could be used to bring up Jay Bruce.

One player who won't be coming Tuesday is Homer Bailey.

The plan is to keep him at Single-A Sarasota. He'll pitch there during the playoffs.

"He's working with (Sarasota pitching coach) Tom Brown," Krivsky said. "The whole idea is to help him get more consistent."
