Unfortunately, that means we're likely to see a disgusting scene of Cubs fans celebrating at GABP this weekend. I really, really want to see the Reds sweep the Cubs.

It would be nice to go down there and get into a couple fights.

I like it that Sweet Lou has blinked. He's bringing Zambrano back a day early (Friday). He will never admit it pubicly but he wants no part of another Zambrano/ Harang match up. Of course since Harang last pitched on Sunday, Mackanin could move Harang up too and still create that match up.

It will be interesting to see who Mackanin puts on the field and where he puts them as his best line up for any games where the divisional title is still on the line for the Cubs. (Not that he really has that many options with all the injuries).

As much as I dont want the Brewers to make the playoffs, the alternative is much much worse.

If you watch a ballgame the way you post on an internet message board, I doubt you'll have any trouble accomplishing that goal.

Keeping the Cubs from the post-season would be just about the best consolation prize--outside of making the postseason ourselves--one could ask for.

You don't like the idea of players "attacking" umpires, yet you want to go down to GABP and pick fights with Cubs fans? :dunno:

I dont think its possible to pick fights when it involves a cub fan. Also I wasnt totally serious about the fights anyways.

I didnt say I dont like a player arguing with an ump but players have gone to extremes with it. Arguing every ball on the corner and such and going into theatrical performances when they disagree with simple things.

He's keeping Zambrano on his regular 4 days rest, so he'll be lined up perfectly for the first game of the playoffs (PLAYOFFS?!? PLAYOFFS?!?)

I'm guessing the Cubs want no part of Harang (or Arroyo for that matter), but they don't have a choice.

I'm a Cub fan but if they blow this thing, seeing the a-hole fans who take over GABP go home crushed will make it a little easier to take.

Sorry, yeah. Born in Chicago but living near Cincy for the last 17 years or so.

Hey, maybe you'll like this song parody (http://www.amiright.com/parody/70s/jgeilsband1.shtml), which I wrote about the Cubs a couple years ago in a bout of frustration.

This year the Cubs. Last year the Reds. I'm a fickle, yella-bellied fence-straddler.
