The Redsox score two more quickly - and I did not hear any boos from the Anaheim fans.
They are either very classy, very used to losing, very apathetic, or all of the above lol.

7 in the 8th for the Red Sox, 9-0 now

9-0 now, 7 runs in the 8th, still just 1 out. This one might even be Gagne-proof.

Who would have thought that three out of four (so far) playoff series would be sweeps

MrCinatit

This would be the first time three teams have swept the first round of the playoffs since divisional play started.
If Cleveland were to go all the way tonight (doubtful, playing in Yankee Stadium), it would be the first time the first round of the playoffs have been swept since 1975. It was also done in 1970 and 1969.

Watching Roger Clemens and realizing it may be his last game ever. Worth watching for that reason IMO.

Garko singles in a run and the Indians take a 1-0 lead.

Yep. 'Cause I'll bet his wife has a cell phone that works now.

Rocket Lips is toast.

Personally, I'm loving it.

That may be the last we ever see Clemens pitch.

Many times.

Boy, I love these David and Goliath stories. Especially when it's the Yankees taking a rock to the forehead.

The Yankees never had much of a chance against the Indians.

Be happy the divisional series is over. Least inspired in years.

I know we have heard the "Clemens is going to retire" story many times before - but I really hope this time, it is the case. He has not been terrible this year, but he is kind of painful to watch this year.

Damon drives in a run now 3-1 Indians.

Not much return on the Yankees investment this year.

I'll bet Clemens' hamstring is feeling much better now that he doesn't get the L.

The guy definitely was in discomfort. I don't know if he was hurt or not, but he needed to come out of the game. Torre did the right thing, as per usual. The game is far from over, but anyone who counts the Yankees out is making a mistake.

Yankees out to a huge lead as Nixon totally misplays that ball in right.

I really thought that Torre should've let Hughes start the 7th. With a 5 run lead, I saw no reason to burn Joba for two innings.

I didn't understand that, either, unless he had a reason to believe Hughes was tiring.

Anyone else think starting Sabathia on 3 days rest tonight would make more sense than starting Byrd? They could still come back with Carmona on regular rest for game 5. Or is it better to save both Sabathia and Carmona for game 5?

I'm not an advocate of starting a pitcher on 3-days rest unless they have shown that they can handle it. If Sabathia is up to it, it's not a bad idea. He's thrown a lot of innings this year.

Yankees are starting Wang tonight on 3-days rest. He's never done it before, but he pitches better in Yankee Stadium than on the road.
