Trent just asked Dusty about Dunn and he kind of skirted the question. Castellini interjected, "I want him back, Trent. I want him back." Interesting.

Dusty said he's spoiled with winning, and it's like a disease he doesn't want to cure, he just wants to satisfy it.

i can live with that!

i heard that, and found it very interesting, i would sure like to know what players contacted him.

the only one that really came to mind was barry bonds, but i don't think the reds would have any interest in him, with all the other needs they have. + i think it would be a better fit for him to DH.

Did they mention the coaching staff, and if Dusty would be picking his own staff, or are some leftovers going to remain?

Jacque Jones will be on the trading block.

Michael Barrett is a free agent.

What's Jose Macias up to these days?

Oh, the horrifying possibilities. Welcome to our nightmare.

What all was said in the press conference?

It was all a hilarious joke; they're actually bringing back Sparky.

I really hope Bob wasn't blowing smoke about a big increase in the payroll budget. When you bring on a big name manager sometimes that is factored into the equation. Let's hope that they can bring in some big names.

We don't need any position players. I hope the players were pitchers.

I'd like to see Wood as a closer

I'd like to see Wood as a closerI might take a chance on him. I don't know what he did this year, but atleast he was healthy.:)

He was good but if he leaves Chicago it will be for more money than the risk is worth. They'd have a better shot at a Freel-for-Dempster deal.

Where does Wayne sign?

Where does Wayne sign?I'll forge his signature. That deal would be made in a second. I doubt the Cubs are that stupid though.:)

The majority of posters apparently got the joke DB told about attracting FAs and getting calls from players that want to come to the Red.

I hope that others talking about getting Kerry Wood are in on the joke also.

In the Fall of 2002 when the Cub hired DB, he said he was the "mecca" for FAs. Do we remember how that turned out?
