At first, I thought this show was a gag:

http://alpha.cbs.com/primetime/viva_laughlin/

The one positive is Madchen Amick - Shelly Johnson from Twin Peaks. Haven't seen her in years and, mmm, she's still a sweet slice.

If CBS buys this I got some more ideas:

Tacoma PD Blues,

The Streets of Dayton,

Dearbornication

I'd much rather they brought back Viva Variety.

Viva Laughlin

Thrilling stories of old people pulling slot machine arms at the Colorado Belle & Bikers hitting up the 2 for 1 Buffet special at the Edgewater.

Sign me up.

I'd much rather they brought back Viva Variety.

The low-budget, creative version from the first season. Not the overblown, homogenized, unfunny Vegas revue from the second season.

It's actually a ripoff of a Brit show, which was a musical drama.

Doesn't look like the American version will be anywhere near as inventive. Oddly, Viva Laughlin's star, Lloyd Owen, was in another Brit staple, Coupling, that was wretchedly adapted to American television (giving us all a lesson in the difference between good acting and bad acting).

Wouldn't Atlantic City make a better parallel to Blackpool? Both have a seedy charm. Laughlin's just lame.

I'm still waiting for the rebirth of CopRock.

Maybe they should make a sitcom about cavemen!

It might, AC is incredibly seedy. The sand there is even grimy.

Cancelled after 2 episodes (http://www.reuters.com/article/televisionNews/idUSN2262926020071023)? Apparently, it should have been cancelled earlier.

I watched 30 minutes of the pilot. It was the worst show I have ever seen. I have no idea how that made it to air.

I never saw a single ad for this show. Would've at least tuned in once had I known it existed.

They greenlighted that show but they probably wouldn't give a second glance to an idea like this
