Nah... I've read the thread.

I also know that averaging 8.7 ppg at the College of Southern Idaho is a long way from starting in the SEC.

Did you see how many assists he drops and how many points his team scores per game?

WMR

I heard he doesn't play a lick of defense.

He'll be an All-SEC caliber defender under BCG.

54.7% free throw shooter.

And you think they'll play that way at UK?

Also, it looks like they've played some quality competition. 111.7-75.5 ppg

As soon as BCG gets the proper horses, the tempo will increase. He is doing such a great job coaching the team to what he has at his disposal right now.

WMR, where can I find a good write up on this guy? I checked a couple sites this morning and they are listing him as a small forward / swing man. Regardless of position, it's great news that Billy G is reloading already.

Honestly, bud, the best site to go to for all recruiting news is www.kentuckyink.com. You might need to register to view the recruiting board, but it is an AWESOME site.

Do a search for Kevin Galloway and you'll get some GREAT write-ups about his game.

These guys aren't giving him his just due. He will be a good one for BCG.

Playing against the likes of University of Montana Western JV, College of Eastern Utah, and Colorado Northwestern will do that. As well as only having to be the 5th highest scorer on your squad.

Arkansas... they've been a big time bugaboo for Stallings.

Not 100% sure, but I'd say his record vs. UK is better than his record vs. Arky.

He's going to put double figures in scoring on Vandy when he doesn't even do it vs. Salt Lake City CC?

Galloway is averaging 8.5 assists ... 2.5 steals ... over 4 boards per game ... 44% from 3-pt range (albeit a fairly small sample size, which shows that he can hit a wide-open 3) ... even if he's not gangbusters from the jump, he is a lightning quicki SIX FOOT SEVEN FREAKIN' POINT GUARD. You don't come across those every day.

They're going to need dudes who can score next year. I'm not sure he's one of those.

His numbers against a schedule where his team won by an average of 46 points mean bupkis.

Doesn't look like CSI got very good PG leadership in their 2nd round tourney game. http://athletics.csi.edu/boxscores/08mregion5.htm

He may turn out to be a good role player, but to annoint him a starter on an SEC team seems to me to be a bit premature.

BRM

He will have his second chance after his jail-time, if he gets any. Someone surely will let him play.

Dealing crack and making illegal phone calls aren't even on the same planet in my eyes.

'Bud' Mackey's next court date set for May 5

GEORGETOWN - The bond will remain unchanged for a former Scott County High School basketball player accused of trafficking in a controlled substance.

Jonathan "Bud" Mackey, 18, appeared in Scott County Circuit Court on Monday. He was arrested Sept. 28, charged with possessing 1.6 grams of rock cocaine in his shoe at school. Mackey was released on $10,000 bond the day after he was arrested.

Mackey is attending school in Cincinnati.

Mackey was named most valuable player at the Sweet 16 tournament last year when Scott County won the state boys' high school basketball championship.

A pretrial conference is scheduled for 9 a.m. May 5 in Scott Circuit Court.

Good find. I really doubt they'll send him to jail considering his age and that this was a first-offense... probably a boat-load of community service and at least five years of probation.

BTW: I'm sure it won't help his case at all that he's planning to walk-on at UK.

1.6 grams at age 17 in Butler County, Ohio... hmmmmmm... if he didn't test positive for use, I'd say you're about right... maybe 6 months local time depending on the judge. Maybe less if he was just a mule and would rat.

Wonder if his probation would prevent him from traveling out of state, to say... basketball games... like a normal probationer's would.

Wily -- Will Jared Carter be a Georgetown Tiger next year? Could he play for them???

According to Coach, Jared is still in his plans at UK...

He has described Carter as "dominant" during practice... he hasn't really been healthy at all since high school... shoulder injuries have kept him from getting any stronger... perhaps by next season he'll be ready to contribute? Coach seems to think so. I'll just hafta take his word for it.

Honestly I don't either, but Coach sees him in practice every day so I guess he should know?

Gillispie doesn't do much "shooting sunshine up people's butts" ... I don't think he would say what he says about Carter if he didn't genuinely mean it... I wouldn't be surprised to see Carter transfer, I think the scholly could be put to better use... but who knows?

We could probably take that talk to a different thread if it's really that bothersome. I certainly don't want to keep UK fans out of the UK thread, if my posting is doing so.
