CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Cincinnati Reds director of player development Terry Reynolds has announced the 2008 coaching lineup for the Chattanooga Lookouts. Former Seattle Mariners coach Mike Goff will manage the Lookouts, while former big league pitcher and pitching coach Chris Bosio will also join the Lookouts contingent as the team's pitching coach. The lone holdover from last season's staff, Jamie Dismuke, will embark upon his fifth season as Chattanooga's hitting coach.

Goff served as Seattle's first-base coach during the latter part of the 2005 season and for the beginning portion of the 2006 season before being named bench coach on July 3rd. Prior to his coaching tenure with the Mariners, he spent nine years as the Minor League coordinator for instruction for the Seattle Mariners organization. The Mobile, Alabama native began his professional coaching career as the hitting coach for the Jacksonville Suns in 1992. He subsequently went on to become the manager for the Bellingham Mariners (Mariners short-A-affiliate, Northwest League), where he went a combined 86-66 and led his 1993 team to the League finals. After his two-year stint with Bellingham, he managed the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Mariners A-affiliate, Midwest League) from 1995-96. His teams went a combined 140-133 during his tenure with the Timber Rattlers. His 1996 team made it to the Midwest League finals.

Before his professional managing days, Goff spent five seasons in the Red Sox minor league system from 1984-1988. After spending the entire 1988 season on the disabled list with back problems, he retired and entered the college coaching ranks at South Alabama.

Bosio, who spent the 2003 season as the pitching coach for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, pitched 16 seasons of professional baseball, 11 of which at the Major League level. The California native pitched for the Milwaukee Brewers and Seattle Mariners, where he accrued 94 wins to go with a 3.96 career ERA. He finished his career in the Red Sox Minor League system in 1997 before announcing his retirement. Among his numerous achievements at the Major League level was pitching a no-hitter for the Seattle Mariners against the Boston Red Sox on April 22, 1993.

Jamie Dismuke returns to Chattanooga as the hitting coach. Dismuke enters his ninth season as a coach in the Cincinnati Reds system. Prior experiences include: hitting coach for Class-A Mudville (2001), Class-A Stockton (2002) and Class-A Potomac (2003). In 1999, Dismuke started his coaching career in a hybrid role as player/coach with the Lookouts, which led to a full-time role with Chattanooga the following season. Dismuke, a former first-baseman, played nine minor-league seasons, eight of which were spent in the Reds' organization.

Chris Bosio's birthday, April 3rd, coincidentally is Opening Day for the Lookouts at Montgomery. The 2008 team will begin their first homestand on April 8th against the Birmingham Barons.
