I usto like Reitsma. If he's cheap, why not give him another shot?

I think he would take a Reds discount I heard he wouldn't mind coming back here if he was health.

Reitsma and Tomko are different pitchers, how can you compare the two? Tomko starts or can start, while Reitsma is a relief pitcher only. If Reitsma is cheap, then I'm up for it. If Tomko is just as cheap and the Reds don't land a Bedard, Haren, Snell, Benson, etc. then sign him as well.

I'LL HEARD THERE WAS TALKED ABOUT BRINGING BACK TOMKO. IF THE REDS WRER GOING GIVE SOMEBODY A SECOND CHANCE WHY NOT Chris Reitsma ? IF Reitsma Healthy HE CAN START SOME IF NEEDED

The year Reitsma got traded right before the start of the Season, I met up with him at City of the Palms Field in Ft. Myers, after the game. He was really gracious, talked and joked with me all the way to his parents' car. At that time, he was the best pitcher the Reds had. Hated to see him go, would love to see if he's still got something. Fastball, Change-up, that's it. Hitters couldn't tell the diff'. Mario Soto sure made that work.

Sorry, I would have to vote no, unless it was strictly a spring training invite only. Nothing guaranteed money wise.

Here are his 2007 numbers: 0-2, 23 2/3 IP, 37 hits, 22 runs, 20 ER, 9 walks, 11 strikeouts, 1.94 WHIP, a 7.61 ERA and a .359 BAA. Ouch! It really pains me to say this, but I think Mike Stanton could do better than that.

How about Jeff Shaw? I have heard he keeps himself in pretty good shape and is waiting for the Reds to contact him about a contract offer. How about John Franco? I bet his arm is in good shape after a few years off. Leave these old retreads alone, young power arms are the way to go.

 Mike Stanton used to be good... Maybe he can catch some lightning in a bottle...

I would have to totally agree on this one, but on a side note to this, if he even shows any life whatsoever during spring, then you sign him, especially if he upstages, say a Stanton....that would be perfect right there!
