Vote for the player who you think is the Reds #20 prospect (the best prospect who is not yet on the list). We will go with this as far as you guys want to take it.

I will post a new list every 2 days with 10-15 options to vote on.

If you feel like making an argument on why a guy should be voted here, feel free to vote and state why you voted for that player.

If there is someone that is not currently listed as an option to vote on, vote for 'other' then just state who you want to vote for in the thread.

If there is anyone you would like to see as an option on the next poll, just say so and if they garner enough support, they will be placed on the next poll. Guys with the lowest amount of votes will usually be removed for the next few guys who were talked about in the previous thread.

Prospect 1 - Jay Bruce
Prospect 2 - Homer Bailey
Prospect 3 - Johnny Cueto
Prospect 4 - Joey Votto
Prospect 5 - Todd Frazier
Prospect 6 - Drew Stubbs
Prospect 7 - Matt Maloney
Prospect 8 - Josh Roenicke
Prospect 9 - Travis Wood
Prospect 10 - Devin Mesoraco
Prospect 11 - Kyle Lotzkar
Prospect 12 - Danny Dorn
Prospect 13 - Sean Watson
Prospect 14 - Carlos Fisher
Prospect 15 - Juan Francisco
Prospect 16 - Neftali Soto
Prospect 17 - Brandon Waring
Prospect 18 - Adam Rosales
Prospect 19 - Tyler Pelland

From this point forward, players that get no votes in the previous poll get bumped and put into a little rotation of players. Guys that have no votes but have been mentioned and will be worked back in: Scott Carroll, Jose Castro, Rafael Gonzalez, Sean Henry, Jordan Smith, Philippe Valiquette and Travis Webb

Sam LeCure. Good K rates, decent WHIP until last year. He'll likely repeat AA. If he comes out strong, he positions himself as prime trade bait.

I vote Dickerson too. With the Hammy trade, Dickerson becomes a bigger factor in 2008 IMO. If nothing else, it may enhance his trade value. Of course I had him at number 12 before any of this ever went down. Plus defender, LH Bat, speed, can take a walk and close to the bigs.

Lecure had 104 Ks in 110 innings at AA as a 23 year old pitcher. He should make the top twenty.

I'll again go with Pedro Viola.

I wonder how mad some of you would get if I voted Herrera over Pedro Viola? :ughmamoru

Daryl Thompson outperformed Sean Watson at the same levels of play last season. Admittedly, Watson is the better prospect, but Thompson has a low-occasionally mid-90s fastball, plus a good curve and changeup. He's deserving of a spot in the top 20.

My vote is for Daryl Thompson.

I voted Thompson. This is getting to be tough alot of players are grouped together really close.

I'd like to see Richie Gardner on next poll. Tore thru high A and AA before hitting bump at AAA.

I'm sticking with Viola, who should be neck and neck with Roenicke. I won't be disappointed if it goes to Thompson, though.

Sam LeCure was number 8 on this list last year. He can't crack the top 20 this year.

What happend? Did his value really drop that far?

:dunno:

Not sure, but the talent in the organization has taken a HUGE jump from last year too.

Thanks Doug.

I still believe Lecure has talent. Keep an eye on him in 2008.

I like him too. I think he could be a solid guy in the majors in a year or two.

I'll tell ya what, however the top 30, 40 or whatever turn out the premise was to learn more about all of the prospects. And it was a brilliant idea as I can guarantee that if we turned around right after this and done it again I would vote somewhat differently than the 1st time around.

Well done guys, good discussions. I just wish I had more scouting reports to compare to the stats.
