I wonder how this little tidbit managed to escape our most erstwhile posters ;)


The market value for closers of Nathan's ability -- there are few at his level -- is $12 million to $15 million a year. The Reds signed Chad Cordero, who's not as good as Nathan, to a four-year deal worth $46 million. The Yankees signed Mariano Rivera for three years at $45 million.

Yep, and Don Robinson almost threw a perfect game in 1988. A few months later, Fred Breining did throw one.
