Jayson Stark said on Mike & Mike this morning that the Giamts are looking to unload 10 players before the season starts. One of those mentioned was our old buddy, Rich Aurilia. That's gotta be nice for Giants fans to know their front office has thrown in the towel even before the season starts.

I think dealing those 10 would make the team better. They have no shot right now. At least 10 new bodies won't know they are supposed to lose and might play loose enough to make some noise.

adult crap is universally disgusting, but there are those that find baby crap to be charming.

The Giants have 10 players that other teams would want?

I find that difficult to imagine.

The Giants have 10 players that other teams would want?if the Giants don't want 'em then why would someone else ... unless of course they want to get rid of Lincecum.

I've always liked Randy Winn and I think he'd be a nice little player in GABP but he'd be an expensive 4th outfielder for the Reds.

No, they have 10 players they want to get rid of i.e. Rich Aurilia. Stark thinks they are going to have a difficult time doing that. You think?

Did they mention any pitchers of note?

Looking at their roster, I didn't realize how craptastic Aurillia was last year. Wow, he didn't even hit lefthanders. Krivsky should be applauded for running from that guy. I remember last year several people in the media bemoaning the loss of the "clutch hitting" Aurillia.

Looks like the Reds got one of the 10.

Outside of about 3 or 4 guys, I don't know anybody you would want.

Is Sabean the guy you'd want overseeing a tear down?

I wouldn't trust Sabean with my baseball card collection, let alone a major league baseball team...

To make that move look even better, the Reds received draft pick compensation in the form of Kyle Lotzkar, who is widely considered to be one of the Reds' best prospects.

I'd take Lincecum and Cain off their hands...

Jon Sanchez, Pat Misch would also be interesting targets.

Fred Lewis might be interesting as well.

Why didn't they do this to start the offseason?

Left-handed pitcher Jose Capellan was claimed off waivers from the Giants. Capellan, 21, was selected in the Rule 5 Draft from the Red Sox in December. Last season with Class A Lowell, he was 4-3 with a 3.69 ERA in 14 starts. He walked 11 and struck out 71.

Reds scout Ross Sapp watched Capellan with the Giants in Arizona and recommended the acquisition. Although a starter in the Minors, he will pitch from the bullpen if he makes the team out of camp.

"I'm just anxious to see him," said Reds general manager Wayne Krivsky. "Ross sent in some video on him. We had a chance to watch him. It was good."

Under Rule 5 provisions, Capellan would have to stay on the Reds' 25-man roster all season or be offered back to Boston. Cincinnati paid $25,000 for the waiver claim but would get the money back if he doesn't make the team.

To make room for Capellan on the 40-man roster lefty Alexander Smit was sent outright to Class A Sarasota.

I'm guessing:

Winn, Vizquel, Durham, Roberts, Aurilia, Zito, Lowry, Kline, Molina????

Why the hell did they sign Rowand?

Which alone was a good reason that the Red's had Ricj A on the team. The other you ask? Seeing Puffy say he loathed Rich Aurillia :D
