Wow, how Sowers has fallen. An archive of what has been written about him on this site since the Reds failed to sign him out of Vanderbilt would be entertaining to say the least.

He's still only 24 years old. He's probably got at least as good a chance as Malony to put it together. He's lefthanded and wouldn't cost too much.

Sure, I'd take a flyer on him. I wouldn't trade Homer for him, but I'd pick him up if the Indians were reasonable about their demands. Sowers was pretty impressive in 2006 in about 80 IP (and age 22).

Seems like the classic prospect that lost his shine real quick.Sure, it's a risk that he might have already flamed out, but he's worth a shot.

Sowers is decent, but I don't get the love. He is new, probably will be serviceable, but he taint franchise. The Reds offered the guy 2.5 million at the 14th slot, which was very nice, especially for a HS guy

It wasn't so much the Reds failing to sign him, it was drafting him knowing they were not going to sign him, it was punting a 1st round pick that got a lot of people angry.
