No link as of yet, but it's on the radio here in Chicago.

If the Sox would pay some of his salary, is he an upgrade over Juan Castro?

Uribe used to be an excellent defender. He's not anymore. Right now he's pretty much an expensive version of Castro.

Uribe has a little more pop in his bat.

I'd rather go with a plus-plus defensive shortstop - even if he can't hit a lick. The development of the young pitchers trumps everything else as far as I'm concerned.

That's not to say the current roster has such a player.

Has his defense really declined? He was something in CO for his tenure.

Last time I saw him on TV he looked very heavy.

Someone needs to make a "Leave Juan Castro Alone!" video and put it on Youtube. :D

I don't think there is much Uribe can do right now that Janish could not provide off the bench.

Sorry sava, I think I'll go with Castro :)
And then expect a VERY low scoring game from both teams...

except Uribe had a higher OBP last year with the White Sox than Janish had in AAA

BP still likes his defense...

Didn't Uribe kill a guy last year in the Dominican?

Might add some fire to the team chemistry.

I know some White Sox fans that wish that were the case

If we're going that route lets get Ugueth Urbina out of prison so we'll have a good setup man.

I was playing to the Janish fans... I probably should have used a smiley or something.

What, and have Dusty start Uribe ahead of Keppinger? Bad dog, no biscuit!

Uribe or Castro is the argument, Keppinger at SS is a pipe dream IMO

That "pipe" smoked pretty good last September (but that was Mac, not Dust as mgr...)

Dusty didn't seem to have a problem playing Aurilia at SS. I think all this teeth gnashing is overplayed.

So he played Neifi in Chicago, it's not like he had anyone better on the roster.

Yeah, I think it's more an indictment of GM Jim Hendry than it is Dusty Baker.

Everthing's peachy until the first "routine" DP doesn't get turned, then Dust sends in the Castro calvary

Stop calling me bitter you hippy :D

For one I don't think Keppinger is even Rich Aurilia good at SS, and two, he's the valuable backup infield guy, the righty Hat.

I'd still prefer Uribe on the roster to Catro, of course I'd prefer some old cheese on the roster to Catro.

Hippy!? Wash your mouth out with soap son!

(just don't use any with any harmful chemicals in it :) )

Kepp's starting at SS today so they must be considering him there.

From Rotoworld:

Juan Uribe-SS-White Sox Mar. 20 - 6:28 pm et

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the White Sox pulled Juan Uribe off waivers on Thursday after failing to progress in trade talks for the infielder.
The report says that talks were still ongoing, though there is a chance that the trade has already fallen apart. Manager Ozzie Guillen said "get back to me tomorrow" when asked about Uribe prior to Thursday's game.
