* More transactions today: the Reds returned to the Red Sox, Rule 5 Draft selection LHP Jose Capallan, optioned to Class AAA Louisville Bill Bay and reassigned to minor league camp, INF Andy Phillips. The Reds are down to 31 healthy players in camp. Bray's assignment, to me, signals Stanton and Mercker may have this team made, giving them three lefties in the 'pen, Affeldt, Stanton and Mercker.

I think the sending of Phillips out means that the Reds are happy with Votto, and he will be start the season in Cincinnati, which is smart.

I was hoping the Reds could work out a deal with Boston for Capellan. I think he has a lot of upside.
