Matt700wlw

I could see Mich St. beating Memphis....Memphis is in a crappy conference - it wasn't great when UC, Louisville, and Marquette were in it, but now it really stinks.

I guess in other words, I consider them overrated, even though I have them in the Elite 8....but that's it.

Davidson and Wisconsin are hot. They are hitting three pointers on almost every trip down the floor. Davidson is already 7 for 10 on 3 pointers.

Davidson/Wisconsin tied at 36 at halftime.

RedsManRick
03-28-2008, 08:04 PM
No way does Davidson continue to shoot 57% from 3 or 54% from the floor. Wisconsin is the best Def FG% team in the country. This is a classic Badger game. They'll just wear 'em out down the stretch as Davidson cools off. They're going to need Curry to take over the scoring role in the 2nd half to stay in it.

Curry is a stud, but look for him to get held down on Sunday by Rush, Chalmers, Collins, and Robinson.

The Jayhawks will switch defenders on him and they have the depth to stay with him the whole game.

The Badgers only have one player who can stay with him, and Flowers is getting tired.

60-45 Davidson with 10:08 left!

Curry is unreal. Skip Clueless said Curry would score under 19. In fact he guaranteed it.

Yeah I agree with the more with the Redd comp than Allen. Although, I think both Redd and Allen could do more in a one on one situation. And Curry's awfully small, I don't see him doing much in the NBA. The typical Steve Alford, JJ Redick type career.

I enjoy watching him play. He has gotten so much more consistent as this year has progressed. Very creative and fun to watch. In the odd favorites, I love watching Leon Powe play. He has the fastest ups on a big man that I can think of. Not necessarily highest ups but gets up quickly, as if he grew up playing soccer. Surpisingly explosive and just fun to watch in his role.

More like Craig Hodges or John Paxson. Curry handles the ball better than Redick or Alford in his day.

Curry doesn't handle the ball much at all, and certainly not much, if any, better than Redick or Alford. And he doesn't handle it well enough to play pg in the NBA. Hodges or Paxson weren't near the scorers that Redick and Alford were or that Curry is.

They'll say the same things about Curry that were said about Alford and Redick, "if he works hard on his ball handling he could be a very good pro." It could happen but not likely.

Boston Red

I've never really understood this logic. Oregon State is in a great conference, and they suck. What does conference have to do with anything?

Boston Red
03-29-2008, 02:19 PM
Reddick's and Alford's problems had/have nothing to do with the offensive end. Neither is/was a good pro because they can't/couldn't guard their own shadows.

Haven't seen Curry enough to see if he can guard.

Revering4Blue
03-29-2008, 02:42 PM
Hodges or Paxson weren't near the scorers that Redick and Alford were or that Curry is.

Hodges and Paxson each averaged 18ppg senior seasons, and were better ball handlers than Redick or Alford. Of course, they also spent the majority of their NBA careers playing alongside Jordan and Pippen, who in a sense operated as Point Guard and Point forward, respectively.

Reddick's and Alford's problems had/have nothing to do with the offensive end. Neither is/was a good pro because they can't/couldn't guard their own shadows.

Haven't seen Curry enough to see if he can guard.

Keep in mind that the NBA now allows any kind of defense--no more illegal defense calls--which certainly helps to hide defensive deficiencies of smaller/slower SG/combo guard types.
I'm certainly not writing off Reddick for the same purpose. If Steve Kerr can enjoy a decade plus NBA career, so can Reddick and Curry. It helps to have a shotblocker behind you, though.

Curry is a much better ball handler than J.J. Redick. But Curry's quickness will be the reason he will survive and play in the N.B.A.

Curry- only a sophomore, has time to improve.

GoReds33
03-29-2008, 09:53 PM
I like Curry, and being a Sophmore, he has plenty of time to develop. Still, I don't see him having any NBA success. We've seen that he produces under pressure, so that doesn't concern me. What does concern me is his shot mechanics. He shoots too low, with IMO too long of a release. I think that he will have a tough time getting his shots off over much taller, and more athletic NBA guards.
