I'll go with Dunn. He seems to have plenty of power on Opening Day.

Adam Dunn has hit five home runs in his last three Opening Days. I see no reason why the trend shouldn't continue.

Dunn. Didn't he hit 2 last year on opening day?

Edwin is getting a lot of votes for such a bad spring...

Dunn, nobody will be on base though, and of course that will be his fault.

I sure hope the Reds get a couple today. It's going to be tough against Brandon Webb and his sinker. I voted for Dunn.

I voted for Hatteburg though I could also see it being Keppinger.

Phillips, b/c he'll be trying to hit 40 HR this year, and swinging for the fences every AB.

No he won't. Phillips has shown a nice feel for hitting the ball up the middle and the other way with two strikes -- I imagine that will continue. I see EdE as far more likely to press and start overswinging.

EE, just to spite the haters.

Are you talking about Andy Phillips?

I haven't seen Brandon Phillips change his approach with 2 strikes since he's been a Red. I've seen him be a free-swinger during all counts at the plate. I imagine that will continue.

This is simply not true. I'm not going to argue with you, either.

I voted for EE for the record.

Site feedback: thumbsdown on not being able to edit the polls anymore. I make frequent errors and now I can't correct them. Also, I forgot to check the feature to show who voted for which player.

I'm not looking for an argument, I'm looking for a member of this community to catch me up to speed on something I clearly missed with Brandon Phillips' approach at the plate in certain situations.

The last two years, it seems like Phillips swings at a lot of 1st pitches, doesn't see many pitches per PA, and IMO swings the same regardless of the count and the situation (unless explicitly asked to bunt).

If you've seen something different, I'd love to know what you've seen, and when you've seen it. Different perspectives are a great thing, since I know mine isn't correct 100% of the time.

The biggest thing I remember from Phillips last year was him grounding into a lot of "Phillips" (since we renamed it from the Casey), swinging at a lot of 1st pitches, and when he got close to 30 HR he was swinging for the fences every PA.
