I've seen a many a music thread here, but I don't recall one like this. Just curious if there is a particular song or songs that sum up how you view life.

For me, the song that sums it up most is Brad Paisley's "Ain't Nothin' Like"

Chickenhead by Project Pat

"Always in my face, talkin' this and that..."

But mostly, yeah, my life is all about a chicken sound effect playing on a loop: bwak, bwak!

Tough question because I am much more into the melody of a song than the lyrics. But of all the songs out there, all the great ones and bad ones and long ones and short ones; after thinking about them for a great while, those songs that make you want to cry and those songs that make you laugh and those songs that make you reflect on your life, your decisions and choices, I would have to say the song that sums up my view on life is:

The Hokey Pokey.

Because that's really what it's all about.

Row, row, row your boat,
Gently down the stream.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily,
Life is but a dream

"Seek Up" - Dave Matthews Band

"Look at me in my fancy car
and my bank account
Oh how I wish I could take it all
Down to my grave, God knows I'd save and save..."

Pretty much sums up my view on life. Having things, having money... it's all grand, but it isn't everything. When it is all said and done, we all end up in the same place. It doesn't hurt that the song has a haunting beauty to it.

I also quite like "Life Less Ordinary" by Carbon Leaf:

"Live a life less ordinary, live a life extraordinary with me."
