I've noticed that almost anytime someone mentions visiting some specific place there is usually someone else who will post about also being there at some point in the past. Thought it might be interesting to see if you can name someplace that you have been that no one else on the board has. Post where you have been that may fit the criteria and also if you have been to the place someone else has listed. By "place" generally I mean a city or town or possibly a small or uncommonly visited foreign city, not something like "my basement" or "my cousins house in Bogota, Columbia".

I once stayed in Taxco, Mexico; a cool, little silver-mining town between Mexico City and Acapulco... All told, I have been to Mexico three times.

In the Carribean, I spent a week in St. Thomas/St. John's Virgin Islands...Also been to the Bahamas for a week.

Most of my travels have been U.S. based. In May, I am working in Toronto for a few days (and will spend 7 days in Montreal in November). May will represent my first trip to Canada.

In June, I am working 10 days in London and Geneva. That will represent my first trip to Europe.

I would love to go back to the Azores, but unfortunately Uncle Sam's airlines haven't went that direction for me since 2003. There was an outstanding seafood restaraunt there that had some of the best swordfish steak I've ever tasted.

Many of the Mexico ones are because I met my wife in Mexico City and we did some traveling within Mexico...

My goal is to hit every continent, including Antarctica...I just missed South America a couple times with work...things fell through, didn't get to go...same with Australia...

I'm not trying to disparage, its just that there's so many places to visit. I've been to France, UK and the Netherlands. If I want back to Europe, I'd visit Italy, then Germany, Spain, Ireland, Russia. In short, I'd probably switch continents before I got up north.

I live less than an hour from that dump. Brooklyn, Maine is right next door. In 5th grade basketball we had to travel down there to play the Brooklyn-Sedwick team. We listened to "No Sleep Til Brooklyn" the whole way there.

Of the places mentioned I would love to see Santa Cruz (the average house cost more there than anywhere in the US) and Banff in Canada. The golf course there was designed by Donald Ross and simply looks breathtaking.

Been to Valparaiso, Chile and Perth/Freemantle Australia two very nice areas. People were very friendly as well.

In Perth I was having lunch in a bar and grill type setting and was talking with one of the locals when the question came up as to what part of the US I was from. I said that I currently live in California, but was born and raised in Ohio, it was obvious from his expression that he had no idea where Ohio was located. Since he knew where California was I started from there and told him it was a couple thousand miles east. "OH the east coast like where New York is?" No I said a little inland from the coast. And then he claps me on the back and proclaims "Ah you're from the bush eh mate!"..Sure why not. :)

Most of them aren't worth it either.

I went to school there, and most of the homes weren't worth a fraction of the price they are getting now, and if you ever lived in one you'd know why.

In fact I have a buddy who fled there with his family because paying 750 k for what was a beach house retreat in 1959 wasn't the slice of pie he was looking for in his American dream.

My wife and I went to visit our friend who originally introduced us and she grew up in Sedgwick. The town itself may not be much to write home about but her dad built a beautiful home right on one of the coves. It was probably the most relaxing trip I've ever taken. If we were looking for a bustling nightlife, then yes, we would've been disappointed, I'm sure.
