I think it was some kind of farming accident. But I can't remember specifically what happened. I think he did play a few season after that didn't he? You could never tell it by his hitting. I don't think he ever hit too much above .200.

He severed the tips of his fingers with a skillsaw.

He tried to keep playing but had to much trouble throwing.
