I didnt understand the Cantu thing then and still dont. Yeah the ultimate plan would have been for Kepp to get the AB's at first vs lefty but this team still needs rh vs lefty's without a doubt.

Team needs more than Cantu, this team needs a bonified right-handed power hitting first baseman for the 4th spot. Even with EE and Phillips hitting well it wouldn't be enough. Package Votto, Bray and some good prospects and see what's out there, if nothings worth that level of talent then so be it, but they need more than the pop off the bench bat that people seem to want.

With Griffey, Votto, Dunn, Hatteberg, Valentin, Patterson, and Jay Bruce for that matter, they are just way too lefty heavy. Unless you let Dunn walk and bring in a right handed corner bat you need your first basemen to be one.

Did anybody see Cantu's homerun yesterday? He hit it over the railroad tracks at Houston.

Actually, that's not THAT uncommon here in H-Town. It's only 315 down the line there. Still a nice shot though. An impressive dinger over union station would be Puljols' line drive shot into the rafters above it near the top of the glass. That one still haunts Lidge.

What the Reds need is a manager that bats Dunn farther up in the lineup, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th and moves Patterson down to drive in runs. This is why the high LOB percentages.

Jolbert Cabrera

He's batting .420 at AAA while playing 1B. He's right-handed.

Right now it wouldn't matter where dunn is he looks clueless at the plate.

I agree. People here have been commenting on his OBP because of his high walk totals...but seriously, he's so damned passive at the plate right now. No aggression at all from Adam. Being patient at the plate is great, but not at the expense of looking to get a hit. Unfortunately, Adam's such a laid-back guy...benching him won't make any point on him, it'll just slide off him. But someone needs to make some sort of impression on him. It's almost as if he's so afraid to K that he's letting hittable pitches fly by.
