-Louisville starts at 7:05 with RHP Justin Lehr on the hill for the Bats.

-Chattanooga gets underway at 8:05 with LHP Ben Jukich pitching.

-Sarasota starts at 7:00 with LHP Travis Wood making his third start...Wood has thrown 9.2 scoreless innings to begin the season with 13 strikeouts.

-Dayton starts at 7:00. Not sure who is pitching in that game. My guess is Curtis Partch.

Marcus McBeth gave up 7 ER in 2/3rds of an inning.

McBeth won't be seeing Cincy at anytime. Pelland did good, but we don't need him right now as the Reds are swimming with lefties in the pen.

I liked what I saw out of Pelland tonight at the game.

After a few small singles, McBeth couldn't seem to get control. Gave up a grand slam to end his night. The Bats didn't have anyone in the bullpen warming up for quite awhile during McBeth's struggle.

One odd note:
The Bats nor the Tides had ball boys alongside the 1st and 3rd baselines to get the foul balls...many times it took the outfielder or the umpire to go get the ball if it didn't bounce off to the fielder.

I thought Lehr pitched fairly well, mixing it up in the first few innings.

Jolbert Cabrera didn't seem to have much plate discipline tonight, and seemed fooled by the off-speed pitches.

Ross looked stellar defensively. Picked a guy off 1st, picked a guy off 2nd, and threw out a runner at 2nd, IIRC. His bat...he had a nice swing when he got his double, but the other ABs seemed just like last year when he was struggling. I don't know if he's not moving his legs or what, but it just seems to me that he was more using hands and coming up on the ball to pop them up.

Not the most pleasant game for Jay Bruce Figurine Night. :(

Like the figurine, though. :)

Chat loses 3-2.

Solo HR from fading suspects Cody Strait and Luis Bolivar provide the offense. Bolivar is having a good year at age 27 with a line of .300/.386/.517/.902. He is a RH bat that can play multiple positions including SS IIRC. At his age, its time to get to AAA and maybe Cincy as another guy who could be a fit in place of Juan Castro. I'd say Castro DFA, Hairston to Cincy and Bolivar to AAA would be a good start.

Poor outing for my sleeper Ben Jukich. 4 IP, 5H, 3BB, 3 ER, 4K. This game shows being called in the 8th inning. The weather shows as clear in the box score so I'm not sure what happened exactly.
