Guys, go ahead and discuss the lineup, but please refrain from a PBP, etc account of the game today. We're working as quickly as possible on a resolution to our Game Thread forum dilemma.

I'd like to try Jeff Keppinger in the leadoff spot....speed or no speed

The issue with that lineup is Griffey doesn't have much protection, as long as Edwin isn't hitting.

Dunn, Griffey & Votto all seem to have Suppan's number.

Patterson hasn't done well.

On the bench, Hopper and Hatteberg have also had success against Suppan.

Is Keppinger a Pete Rose-style leadoff guy?

I think Edwin's starting to come around. OPS of .835 with a .348 BA the last 7 days.

I am not sure. Rose would walk and was a switch hitter. Keppinger appears to be batting avg driven mostly, doesn't strikeout a lot, and seems to have some of the bat control of a Rose.

Your lineup is what I am hoping that we can see, and give it enough time to prove itself out one way or the other compared to the one we have been given this year. I would be comfortable with Votto hitting behind Griffey in your lineup. I would love to see what it can do.

Griffey and Dunn back to back?

Do my eyes deceive me?

It's a shame Phillips is still "occupying" the 3rd slot.
