How does this trade look to everyone now that Daryl Thompson is emerging as a good pitching prospect? Is Kearns for Bray and Thompson worth it today?

Still too early. You will have to wait until Thompson and Bray are both pitching effective innings in the bigs.

I think so, seeing what Kearns and Lopez have done since they left.
Thompson may eventually be worth both of those two alone.

I never had a problem with the trade, thought it at worst was a wash, but with Thompson looking possible, I think advantage on this may swing our way in the long run now.

The Reds may end up winning this deal in the long run, but as a trade meant to bolster a team for the playoffs it was an absolute failure.
So, even though the end result may be positive, it doesn't mean the trade was a good one. Does that make sense?

This team has passed their talent level imo.
Dont forget their defense.

No i still don't like the trade, the reds traded two young every day players for two young relievers who they thought would be able to help the bullpen. Majewski was a disaster and to this day Bill Bray is still a question due to his health. None of the players involved have done much to brag about for their teams, and considering the fact that Krivsky get the heave ho today, the success of Daryl Thompson wasn't enough to save him. But to his credit Thompson was a good guy for Krivsky to get included in the deal as a player who could rebound.

It was a wash at worst.
Kearns and Lopez aren't everyday players. They are overrated at that, and Leatherpants was the only GM willing to take them off our hands.

I guess now that WK's gone, should Majewski expect to get pinkslipped soon?

I think the trade helped out because it dumped alot of salary and the Reds got younger players (with the expection of Royce Clayton). And it helped out the bullpen with Bray and possibly Thompson sooner or later.

I was suprised by the trade when it happened, but not disappointed. In hindsight, it'll end up being a very good trade for the Reds because it focused on us getting pitching and prospects. Thompson is looking like a stud and I've been sold on Bray since we got him. He just had a unfortunate run-in with the injury bug. Majewski however......
