I'd like to see Votto moved up in the lineup.

Phillips hitting cleanup against righties has got to stop. I don't think it will though.

Perhaps Arroyo will have better results with Ross receiving him.

I don't think either of these will happen anytime soon.

It would never happen, but just I would love to see a reporter ask Dusty the question about Phillips batting cleanup versus righties -- citing his performance record in the process. Maybe Dusty just isn't aware the Phillips is basically the same Alex Gonzalez against righties...

if they are going to bat Dunn 5th I don't mind having EE and Votto hit behind him.

Yeah, but that trio will probably see 1 AB less than the 1-2-3 guys

It is pure stupidity to have BP hit cleanup vs. RHP.

Scary stuff.

Scary stuff.there is no reason for Hairston, Jr or BP in the top half of the order.

there is no reason for Hairston, Jr or BP in the top half of the order.

Hairston is the CF. Centerfielders hit first.
Junior is a HOF'er. They hit 3rd.
BP is a future 3 hitter but right now is needed to split up Junior and Dunn, therefore he hits 4th.

Does that cover it?

So hard for me to accept that Phillips is a better cleanup hitter than an All-Century player nearing 600 career homeruns headed for the Hall of Fame, or Adam Dunn 40+ for X years in a row.

Hopefully Arroyo will pitch better tonight with Ross behind the plate.

Yup. Wasn't Arroyo pretty much stuck with Valentin in his starts? He and Ross work well together, this might be a big help for him.
