Not to get all game thread-y or anything, but that baserunning gaffe was hilarious. I know some people will be up in arms about it, but you only see a play like that once every few years. I love weird plays like that. Things like that only happen in baseball.

See.... told you people would over-react over one play.

That could easily be the game. Two runs that should have scored. If we lose by one or two, we'll know why we lost.

I still think we'll win, but instead of by 3, it will be by 1.

It took whoever's running Gameday like 5 minutes to figure out the scoring for the play. :D

It would have been funny if it were the other team that did it. It sucks for us.

What was even more hilarious was watching Dunn trying to play defense again.

That's nothing compared to Dunn giving up an inside the park HR.

hahaha that was hilarious watching Dunn, he should have just picked up the ball and tossed it over the fence.

Dunn should bat 8th or 9th while he's hitting so horribly. Between Dunn and Junior's defense, it's amazing anyone ever gets out.

This is why, as a new poster, you'll learn one of my favorite sayings is "I'll shed no tears, nor lose any sleep when Dunn is gone."

Anyone else think that Griff gave up to early on the fly ball to right just before that?

Totally agree. Griff's fielding is a liability.

Not Hilarious. Far from hilarious. Embarrassing. Infuriating. Humiliating.

and it has to be against the Cardinals. Just lovely.

I don't see why Patterson went that far back to 3rd base when he was going to be out. However, I don't know how far BP was away from 2nd...Bad mistake regardless.

Patterson was just taking up as much time as possible so Keppinger could get to 3rd base......... and then leave again.

Don't take it so seriously. It's something you don't see every day, in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't matter.

I saw David Ross hit into a triple play last year in person. I wasn't mad because the Reds got tripled up. I was happy. Why? Because in 30 years, I won't give a crap about the 2007 Reds, but I will remember that I saw a triple play.

It's hilarious that the Reds are hitting the ball hard almost every at bat but right at someone. :(

Yeah Gilpdawg, you're probably right. And I fully admit to being *completely* unreasonable about the Cardinals. I fully despise that particular team, and I just know the heat I'm going to take tomorrow at work from the Cards fans there. It's h--l living this close to St Louis.

Just saw Dunn's attempt at a throw, are you kidding me. I'd like to say pathetic but that's too kind of a word.

Dunn's play put the capper on the absolute worst month by an individual in the history of baseball. Of course he made up for it with a big HR at the end---not.

Amen.

I couple of years back I was trying to explain about the triple play the Reds hit into that most likely cost them the pennant in 1964 and which I was witnessed in person. As a kid of 14 at the time it happened, I think I was mostly just stunned because like the Reds runners on the play (Rose and Helms) I thought the ball was a sure hit and had both runs marked up for the Reds. And by the way even though his name is less remembered than Rose's or Helm's overall, it was Alex Johnson who hit the fatefull ball.
