Flip Dunn and Griffey and Dusty might be onto something...

Its a start I guess.

Oh wow. Apparently the solution is dropping Dunn in the lineup and putting Keppinger in a position to hit in to even more double plays...

Dusty seems really obsessed with avoiding back to back lefties.

If Dusty is that obssessed with not having back to back lefties, here is what he should explore...

Flip EE and Phillips as well and it's perfect, Dusty gets so close it's maddening.

How does that solve that problem?

I fixed it. I meant to put Freel instead of Patterson anyway and at this juncture, would rather see Freel playing over Patterson.

On the brightside, it's nice to see Votto higher in the order.

at this point i just don't know what to say. dusty is trying anything at this point to jump start the offense. i like the idea of moving votto up. didn't griffey bat 2nd a coulpe of times last season? maybe it was a bad dream or something.:D as bad as things are i would run this batting order out.

Reds vs. Reyes last year from Trent:

The Reds face JoJo Reyes, a lefty. Last year they faced Reyes twice. The first time, they had 8 hits and 4 runs in a 6-5 Reds victory and then sent him to an early shower with 4 hits and 5 runs in 2.2 innings of an 8-7 Reds victory.

That's what I was thinking. Interesting and good to see a little shake up at least.

Quotes from Fay

Jeff Keppinger was standing behind me as I was copying it down. "I like it," he said. "I like it."

Griffey volunteered to hit second coming out spring training.

"I don't know if he was serious or not," Dusty Baker said.

Said Griffey: "I'm just trying to move up to the leadoff spot."

The Reds face another left-hander tomorrow -- Tom Glavine -- so you could see the same lineup, although left-handers are hitting .500 over Glavine this year and right-handers are hitting .241.

I think Dusty is just drawing things from out of a hat.

On the bright side, I'm sure someone would pay a lot of money for the hat on ebay if Dusty would sign it.

Yes, have to be honest, that is a decent effort and a start.

Besides, that very well could be a nasty lineup to have to face for the opposing pitcher if it clicks.

I think Dusty took the Billy Martin approach and pulled the lineup out of a hat. It worked for Martin so I hope it works for Dusty. The hitting really can't get much worse.

I'll give Dusty credit for trying SOMETHING.
Just not much. :p:

It's working. We got 4 hits and a run tonight. Much, much better than the 3 hit performance last night.

Keep tinkering Dusty. Soon we might even score 2 runs.

I am starting to think it doesn't matter what the lineup is. This team could lead off the pitcher and do about as much. What a mystery this team is. I mean even bad teams win, play respectable now and then, what do we say about this team? :dunno:

Sometimes pitchers are on, lets not give up on a better order just yet.
