For those of you that haven’t seen this here it is.

What an absolute disgrace of a man.

Pitch not even close and threw his helmet at the pitcher. Although, after the game Big Sexy admitted that throwing his helmet was 'chicken (crap)'

Well, thanks to Major League Baseball and their express written consent...I can't view that video any longer.

Thanks Mr. Selig!

"That's a joke..." sums my view up pretty damn well. lol

Haha, I've seen better fights on a playground. Sexson throws the helmet at the pitcher that is "scooting" away from him in fear. Laird could whip them both I think. I thought Josh Hamilton was going to throw some 'bows in there. :D

I think Josh Hamilton got hurt in that fight and is out for the season. ;)

The pitch was not even close. However, the team is struggling and Sexson might have been looking for a way to fire his team up.

The pitch wasn't close, but Sexson was probably expecting to get plunked in that AB and when it came in high, assumed the pitcher was trying to hit him.

I remember a few years ago Joe Nuxhall said Sexson should be playing girl's softball when he got upset about a Red's pitcher(I don't remember who) came up and in on Sexson, but not real close.

Scotty "Boom Boom" Sullivan? Paul "Yo Jeff, I think I Can Beat Kyle Farnsworth" Wilson?

I felt ashamed of myself after Farnsworth beat up Paul Wilson, who instigated the fight. It was so weird to see a pitcher charge the plate. Farnsworth is crazy.

Who throws a helmet, seriously?

05-09-2008, 04:28 PM
Something not mentioned is that several players on both teams had been plunked and something like this was bound to happen. Even so...overreaction? Yep. At least get mad at a pitch you had to dodge.

Game 1 of the series

Milwood No HIBP
Washburn hit Duran

Game 2
Ponsoon hit Clement
Mariners no HIBP

Game 3
Padilla grazed Ichiro in the first inning to lead off the game
Mariners no HIBP

Game 4
Hernandez hits Laird in the 2nd and Kinsler in the 3rd after Kinsler hit a HR in the 2nd inning
Rangers- no HIBP

The bigger casue was that the M have scored 17 runs in he last 9 games with 7 of those coming off of Milwood in Game 1.

After scoring 1 run off of Ponsoon, being shut out by Padilla and being 1 hit by Gabbard, it looks like the Mariners finally boiled over in frustration. Add to that, Sexson is hitting .209 and striking out a staggering 31% of the time.

At least it's not as bad as when Jose Offerman went after that pitcher with a freakin' BAT! I still get chills watching that. Thank goodness that catcher tackled his butt.

Not trying to downplay Sexton's actions, they were WAY out of line...just sayin'.

For anyone who follows AL, what is real reason Seattle has flopped so far?
They was expected to at least challenge even before they signed Bedard.

Sexson did the best thing he could do for his team....got his bat out of the lineup.

Not to sound barbaric, but the Reds could use a good brawl to liven things up a bit.

As an aside, when was the Reds last fight...

I dont know why Sexson would even manage to do that. He got way out of line and he deserves the suspension and fines that he got. But wow the pitch wasnt even close to him.
