I heart polls.

This one is pretty simple. Who should go (either by trade, release, DFA, option, being left on the side of the road in the woods with a flashlight and a bag of cookies...etc so that Bruce should comeup (whenever that is).

If you don't vote, Krono comes to your house and kneecaps you.

Hard to vote without a poll :D

I was working on it!

Be patient a bit!

I said CP...but I wouldn't be upset with a Griffey or Dunn trade either

The fact that Matt chose CP makes me want to rethink my answer.

Juan Castro... Oh, wait, he's already gone.

I voted Dunn because I want the OF logjam blown up with a splashtastic deal yielding some return. :KoolAid:

If I was in charge of things, I'd give Castro a 300 year contract with 1400 option years.

I'd choose all of the above, other than keeping Bruce in AAA.

I really couldn't care less if Dunn, Griffey, Patterson, Freel, and Hopper are all gone next year.

If you keep saying things like that they are going to take back your Nobel Prizes.

They just take up space on my desk anyhow.

I'd like to see a Dunn/Bruce/Junior outfield for a few weeks at least.

Patterson... Im having a hard time understanding his current employment with the Reds with having Bruce on the farm.

Perhaps it has to do with the need for someone to chase down fly balls hit in the outfield, particularly to left center and right center field.

When Bruce settles in with the Reds, it will likely be as their right fielder. The team will want a fleet centerfielder who can cover a lot of ground out there.
Patterson happens to fill that need. He probably shouldn't hit leadoff and he has slumped badly, but he serves a purpose.

I voted for Junior to go. I'm not in that much of a hurry but if they can move Junior then replace him with Bruce. Not like bringing Bruce up real soon will turn the season around. I want Patterson in CF, just not hitting leadoff.

$3MM for a month and a half of work? Works out to $12MM per year, give or take.

To think that it started as a minor league deal is flat out embarrassing.

I don't think the offense is good enough to keep Patterson in it.

I really believe that when the dust settles, neither Dunn nor Griffey will be traded because no one wants them at the salary they are making unless we take fodder for them. That's just my opinion and it might get you a drink of water at McDonalds.

With Hairston around, Freel is expendable and Hopper and Patterson are just not going to stay on any MLB club very long, so there are three with the caveat that Freel's salary (and maybe Patterson's) would be prohibitive.

This is a mess and we might have to take fodder for our blessed heroes to get rid of them. Wonderful.

Jr. I don't think it can happen though, he's making too much money. Especially with his HR drought of almost a month now!

I voted other. I'd let Hatte go and make JR the LHPH. Improved OF defense in spades and finally some power for the bench. Of course I'd never activate Hopper over anyone on the current roster so I'm not sure how that plays into it.
