Junior and Homer Bailey to Seattle for Felix Hernandez? Or would you want more?

I really doubt Seattle would do that.

Either you are kidding or I am thinking of the wrong Felix Hernandez.

more? would we want more? the mariners would never do that trade. A future hall of famer near the end of his career, and an unproven top prospect, for one of the BEST young pitchers in the game. Not to mention King Felix is a young pitcher who is eating innings with rediculous stuff and strike out rate.

Do you think we could trade with Texas to get Vicente Padilla?

The discussion for Padilla would start with Bailey or even more likely Bailey +. Falls back to being in the postion of calling a club first for a player. Padilla and Millwood are going to be bandied about alot as the trade deadline approaches. ;)

I'm just starting to believe that if the Reds had a better option than Belisle to throw out there every 5th day that actually gave us a chance, we might have something.

I keep looking for teams that have a decent pitcher they might take Bailey and some other prospect for.

Matt Cain would be a name I would throw out there, still young and cheap, has put up good numbers and the Giants may trade him for a talent like Bailey

I would love Matt Cain, but he would cost some serious prospects. Probably Homer, Frazier or Valaika, Francisco, Lotzar... Probably 2 of these guys and lower rated prospect.

Also, 2nd tier pitchers that would still be decent options on teams that will probably fall out of contention that could be gotten for a lesser package like Backe - Hou, Livan Hernandez - Min, and also some free agents to be who would fill in.

Paul Byrd, Jon Garland, Braden Looper, Derek Lowe, Odalis and Oliver Perez, Brett Tomko, and Randy Wolf are all free agents to be who could end up on teams out of contention and be potential improvements. Most likely though, Garland, Lowe, and Byrd will be on teams playing buyers at the deadline.

Seattle would laugh in the Reds face

I looked at Cain. He has had a good career until this year. His era is almost 5.00. He has forked up 10 home runs already. I believe he has had 2 or 3 games where he has been blown up.
