Just for fun, let's play guess tonight's lineup. Pittsburgh starts a lefty, Gorzelanny (spelling?):

SS Hairston (RH)
CF Bruce (LH)
RF Griffey (LH)
2B Phillips (RH)
LF Dunn (LH)
3B Encarnacion (RH)
1B Votto (LH)
C Ross (RH)
P Arroyo (RH)

I don't think he changes anyone except Ross at catcher.

Personally, I'd give Junior the night off and play Freel in RF tonight.

Freel will most likely be at 3B tonight.

3B Freel
CF Bruce
RF Griffey
2B Phillips
LF Dunn
1B Voto
SS Hariston
C Ross.

Well if Bruce isn't in the lineup tonight I predict the last ten minutes of that
Frankenstein movie....pitchforks and torches.;)

EE did K 3 times last night. He looked bad too. He probably needs a night off.

I think attendance from here on out in the next few weeks will be dictated by whether or not Bruce is in the lineup on a given night. People will be looking for the posted lineup before going down and purchasing tickets. :D

Freel will most likely be at 3B tonight.

3B Freel
CF Bruce
RF Griffey
2B Phillips
LF Dunn
1B Voto
SS Hariston
C Ross.

We could only hope... I think Janish plays SS tonight if Freel's at 3rd.

Im gonna go alittle differnt direction Janish will bet at SS but i think Hairston moves over to play third.

Hairston 3b
Bruce CF
Jr. RF
Phillips 2B
Dunn LF
Votto 1B
Ross C
Janish SS
Arroyo p

I don't think Dusty will take Hairstons hot bat out of the lineup.

I wouldn't discount that at all, I didn't know Hariston could play 3B, but that didn't stop him from playing SS either.

I agree, Hairston has been pretty hot with the bat. He needs to be worked in somehow.

and if you can play SS you can play anywhere on the field.

LF Dunn
1B Voto
3B A. Phillips
C Ross.

Andy Phillips is not the answer. Allen Iverson is.

Here is another possibility.

RF Freel
SS Hariston
CF Bruce
2B Phillips
LF Dunn
1B Votto
3B A. Phillips
C Ross

I know, to many chances.

Yikes. I can live with Freel playing 3rd occasionally, but not if Hairston is at SS. If Freel's at third, Janish HAS to man SS. If Jerry's at SS, then Edwin's gotta cover the hot corner.

I'd lean towards something like this.

(RH) Freel 3B
(LH) Bruce CF
(LH) Dunn LF (although we all know it'll be Griffey RF)
(RH) B. Phillips 2B
(LH) Griffey RF (like I said...this'll be Dunn undoubtedly)
(LH) Votto 1B
(RH) Janish SS
(LH) Bako C
Harangatang P ~~~ opps, I forgot, Bronson starts tonight. :O)

I'd prefer Brandon and Votto swapped, but fans here would go nuts with 4 lefties in a row. Personally I don't think it matters that much. The place in the game where the lefty/righty matchups matter are at the end of the game and by that time we've already gotten some subs and/or double-switches from Dusty. I just think Joey's a better 4 hitter than Brandon is....or at least better suited for the role.

So if Janish plays over Hairston and Freel sits is Janish your lead off man? I guess he would have to be unless its Bruce.

Remeber, this is what we predict, not what we prefer.

Ok Here is my guess

Jerry Hairston ss
Jay Bruce cf
Junior Griffey rf
Brandon Phillips 2b
Adam Dunn lf
Edwin Encarnacion 3b
Joey Votto 1b
David Ross c
Bronson Arroyo p

What did I win?

Remeber, this is what we predict, not what we prefer.

That's why I put on there what I thought it would be. Dunn & Griffey reversed.

And ChatterRed takes the prize with the correct guess...and the FIRST guess. Nicely done.
