I was in attendance for this game. It was only the second game I had ever attended, and it was also the second game that had a rain delay. (My first game was Opening Day 1982, which was called after eight innings because of rain.) I remember being disappointed that Johnny Bench was not in the lineup. Dan Driessen hit a pinch-hit solo homer with two outs in the ninth--the first Reds homer I ever witnessed in person.

Looks like a getaway day special for the Reds lineup. Rose at 1st? I don't remember playing there until the tail end of his career. No Morgan,Bench or Driessen and the Reds won despite them being off.

The Rose batting third experiment isn't working out too well.

But the Tyson-Spinks combo at the bottom of the Cards lineup has some possibilities. :D

 I hadn't noticed that. Good pickup.
