I have a friend who works for the Reds, and he told me this in a text message.

"The donkey's son just had a massive seizure. Really scary."

Take it for what it's worth, but he would have no reason to lie to me.

This is horrible. The people in other threads complaining about Dusty taking him out should feel like complete crap. People need to stop jumping to conclusions about htings they have no idea about that's going on.

I should have more of an update by the early afternoon as to his status. I just spoke with my friend and it appears he is going to be fine. Still in my prayers!

Looks like Dunn Jr. has bunted for a hit, let's pray whatever caused the seizure isn't anything serious.

If Dusty didn't make moves like this all the time, people wouldn't jump to those conclusions.

Glad to hear Dunn's son is OK. That's scary stuff.

Update:

Just spoke to my friend. Little Dunner is now fine. He is out of the hospital. It was especially scary that they did not know that the had a condition. I told him that RedZone was prayin for Dunner and the family.

I have a 2 yr old and that would be very scary! Infants and toddlers commonly have febrile seizures, many of which are brought on by a rapid spike in a fever. From what I understand, if that is what happened, then it shouldn't have any long term effects other than the child would be more likely to have another one than a child who had never had one.

MrsHammer, that's exactly what happened to our son this past winter. He had a mild case of Pneumonia, and temperature spikes caused him to have two febrile seizures in the same day. My wife was at work (she's a nurse) when the first one happened. Scared the HELL out of me. My son just went stiff, his eyes rolled back and I couldn't get him to respond. Afterwards, my wife asked why I didn't call 911 first, and I told her that my first reaction was to call her :D The second seizure happened at the hospital, in the ER, while they were trying to get his temp down. He wound up spending a night at the hospital. I learned a lot about symptoms of illness in babies, from that. I'm also even more attentive to his needs now (not that I wasn't from the start). Hope Adam is feeling better after that, and that all it was, was just a febrile seizure (sounds like it wasn't).

That makes sense that it had to be something. Giving up in the 4th inning didn't make any sense.
