Dusty acctually got asked in a PC after the Harang shalacking by the Pirates...

Asked if he though of Fogg pitching there instead so Harang could pitch on normal rest versus the Braves...

Dusty replied... "No I didn't think of that"

more than likely nothing, however Jocketty has been on a tear as of late so it wouldn't surprise me to see him DFA'd or traded for 63 pounds of buffalo meat. Which would then be followed by the likes of Bailey or Maloney being called up for the 5th spot.

I think you see one of the triple A pitchers if Fogg gets drilled today.

How much do you all want to bet that Fogg is nails today? It makes no sense, which is exactly why I think it'll happen. Furthermore, for the long term, I'm not really sure it's the best thing that could occur.

Theres no question Fogg's line today will be 6IP 7K 1 BB 5H 0ER. As a result he will get 3 more starts which will have a combined line of 6IP 7K 12BB 23H 15ER:thumbdown

Thankfully we pretty much have a guarenteed win today though

There is Hope... That Fogg goes like 3 IP, allows 9 Hits and 5 Runs, but yet the Reds still win because of there new found 1-2 hole Hitters get on Base so much, they actually WIN 7-5

That would be WIN-WIN for everyone, except FOGG, so that would work

What does it take to lose your job on this team? If my job performance was anywhere near as atrocious as Fogg's I would've been fired 10 times already.

I wish. Homer hasn't pitched well recently. I'd give Maloney a chance before him right now.

2 days ago, 6 IP 5 Hits, 1 ER with 4K... also 4 bb...

I don't know, with this winning atmosphere, i'd like to see Homer get a Shot...

He only has had one real BAD start, and 2 Not so good ones, the rest have been impressive...

One 4.1 Inning, 11 hits, and 6 ER made his ERA skyrocket and now he is down to 4.05 ERA...

Walt, bring up HOMER

6 of his 7 last starts haven't been that good. His last start with his four walks makes me think he still hasn't figured out his control problems.

Ok, look again, 6 of his last 7 starts were not bad, he had one where he gave up 7 runs in 4.1 IP, another 5 ER in 5 IP, and another where he gave up 4 ER in 5IP...

They guy has been efective mostly... take out his 4.1 IP 6ER performace, and his ERA is like 3.60, take out the 5ER, 5IP, even better....

Volquez has walked some guys, I am not saying Bailey is going to LEAD League in ERA through 11 starts up here, but his Stuff is undeniable, and he's allowed only 62 Hits in 66.1 INNgs, so he isn't getting hit hard everytime...
Like I said, take out the 11 Hits, in the 4.1 IP, and he has given up 51 Hits in 62 IP and that is Awesome...

IMO Maloney is a lot closer than Homer right now. He has not shown signs of improving his command, and he is walking way too many batters. I have faith in him getting ready for the bigs, but the time is not right now.

But there is no denying he's in a funk right now. I don't want to call him up while he's in a funk so he can do even worse against Major league hitters. He'll be good, but like the guy above said, right now isn't the time.

I don't know what is really going on with Homer Bailey's development but it has been discussed ad nauseum on both the sun deck and the org. I would like to see maloney make the trip to cinci. I don't expect anything impressive but if he can hold an ERA around the 4.8-5.1 area I would be excited. It would also be nice if we could have a left hander in the 5 spot of the rotation instead of a pitching machine.
