come back to the pack this month. 17 on the road vs. 9 at home left in June for the Cubbies. So far they are 25-8 at home and only 10-13 on the road.

If I'm not mistaken hasn't the Cubs played the most home games in the ML?
No wonder they are winning so much, because the road record is not great.

They are just 3 under .500 on the road, so the record isn't terrible. Typically if you can be close to .500 on the road and take care of business at you home you will be in good shape.

It's just hard to believe that with all this winning the Reds are doing, they really haven't made up any ground in the division race. I think the Reds are ultimately gunning for a wild card spot, as the Cardinals have got to come back down to Earth sometime soon.

If the Reds keep playing like they are, and the Cubs drop a few close games, we will be in the division race in a week or two. The only problem is that we can't win on the road.

The goal for the Reds first should be .500. It really doesn't matter how many games a team is back if they are sub .500.

Exactly. Focusing on the Cubs right now is beyond foolish. All the Reds should be focusing on is winning the next game. Getting above 500 is the next goal. After that it's trying to win each series we play. Whatever happens in the standings happens. Focusing on that is a bad move. One game at a time. Cliche...but true nonetheless.

Don't worry about it. The Reds aren't going anywhere this year. There is reason for excitement though. Our best and most confident players are our youngest players.

Again, dead on. In order for us to actually contend this year...EVERYTHING would have to go our way. All I'm looking for from the Reds this year is improvement and youth development for next year.
