I know he seemed to hit well here when he was with Houston..

Per rotoworld

"Jason Lane can opt out of his minor league contract with the Yankees if he's not called up by Tuesday.

Lane is hitting just .248, but has 11 homers and 37 RBI at Triple-A. He may get a look as a reserve outfielder if the Yankees decide to send down Shelley Duncan. "We have some decisions to make over the next few days," manager Joe Girardi said."

If he opts out.. whats the chance?
Could get rid of one of the catchers..

The chance? I'm guessing it's very slim. However, I wouldn't mind seeing it happen as long as it's at a reasonable price.

does anyone remember the poster that said Jason Lane was better than Adam Dunn and a future superstar?

good times.

I do remember - in fact I was going to post something about him as well. That wasn't Astrobuddy was it?

Maybe. It was an Astro fan I think.

It was definitely an Astro fan and I can vividly remember him predicting Lane's imminent success. If I remember correctly, he also warned the board that in the not too distant future, Dunn and Lane would be mainstays of the Houston OF for years to come.

That was 2005.

Here are a few Astrobuddy quotes I just found:

Did you think they would be there last season? I bet you the far they finish with a better record than the Reds for the next decade.

Biggio will cool off, But Morgan Ensberg is the real deal, he wont hit 90 homers but he is on his way to 40+ this season.

And my favorite . . .

jpup... you think Clemens will go back to the Yankees?

That I can promise you will not happen. I will buy you Reds season tickets if Clemens goes back to NY.
