Louisville - 7:05 - Matt Maloney.

Chattanooga - 8:05 - Travis Wood.

Dayton - 7:30 - Kyle Lotzkar.

Sarasota is off on its All-Star break. The FSL All-Star game is tomorrow night at 7:15.

I'm pretty excited to see how Lotzkar does tonight. He's still only 18 years old so it will be interesting to see how he does against older competition.

Billings season opens on Tuesday and the GCL opens Thursday so we'll have more to report on next week. Yonder Alonso, Juan Duran, and Neftali Soto will give us a lot more to discuss in the minor league forums.

So does anyone think Stubbs gets moved up after tmmr also with maybe Fraizer, its time to start pushing Stubbs a bit to see what we got.

AAA needs to be cleared out a bit though first, cause Cumberland and Valaika look in need of promotion as well.

Dayton ties the game up. Phipps walked, Mesoraco was HBP then Anthony Gressick singled up the middle.

Correction, they appealed to third base and Denis Phipps was called out. Make that still a 1-0 lead for South Bend

Solid first inning for Lotzkar...

Did they say anything about the wild pitch and if Mes could of blocked it?

Sorry, just got out of the shower. The announcer has sounded impressed by Lotzkar's stuff. Sounds like his curve is very good. His fastball has been good apparently. He had a rough inning though, with 2 walks, HBP and a balk to score a run in the last inning there.

Hopefully Soto can work with Lotzkar on his changeup and develop it into a solid pitch. Supposedly his fastball and curveball are plus pitches right now.

I thought he was supposed to throw harder than that?

He is, but its his first game of the year and as of three weeks ago he wasn't fully healthy. Not sure what the injury was, but that could have had something to do with it.

Yeah I'm not a big fan of Maloney, I just don't see him amounting to anything on the Major League level, I say trade chip but with those type of numbers he is really hurting the return

I have felt the same way, many have been clamoring for hin to get a shot at the bigs but I haven't seen the same pitcher as last year.

Maloney needs a little more time. I believe he only had four starts at AAA last year. His ceiling probably isn't that high, but even so he needs more time to reach it. Three months at AAA isn't enough.

West Tennessee just scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th, and got all those runs back. They now lead 12-4. I think we can safely call this a loss for the Lookouts.

The Lookouts manager was ejected in the bottom of the 7th by the home plate umpire, and the game is now being delayed.

AmarilloRed

The Lookouts finally lost the game 12-4, as the game was called early. There was a 41 minute delay, although I do not have the reason for the delay.

Watson had a bad night: 1 2/3 IP, 2 hits, 4 runs, 4 ER, 2 BB, 2 K

My buddy with the Lookouts said that Wood has no business being in AA yet. He's just not ready. He also said Tatum was the worst catcher he has ever seen. These aren't just one game observations either, these are opinions he has made after watching these guys everyday and talking to coaches and players.

Maloney gave up 1 HR over the first 60 innings of the season, now he's given up 7 over his last three starts. That's bad.

By the way I love the nickname "Thumbs" for Mesoraco.
