well, FOX has the game today and decided to pair Thom Brennaman and Jerry Remy.

They could have paired Don Orsillo and Jeff Brantley.

Young Fireballer vs. Veteran Knuckler. Should be an interesting game.

Edskin

That is a really pedestrian looking lineup for the Bosox-- we're catching them a good time.

And who is this Louikilis character? :)

RedlegJake
06-14-2008, 03:50 PM
No Ortiz and no Ramirez and their lineup still looks as good as the Reds. Oh to have unlimited payroll dollars.

That is a really pedestrian looking lineup for the Bosox-- we're catching them a good time.

And who is this Louikilis character? :)

Lot of people out of the Red Sox lineup. Ramirez has hamstring problems, Varitek has strep throat and Lugo was scratched from the lineup with an upset stomach

RedlegJake
06-14-2008, 03:52 PM
Pedestrian compared to Ortiz and Ramirez in it but still guys like Drew, Lowell, Youkilis, Ellsbury...still V should have a good day

VR
06-14-2008, 03:54 PM
The good news is they've switched to Dodgers/ Detroit on FOX in the Northwest. It sure would have sucked to see the Reds/ EV on TV for the first time this year.

RedlegJake
06-14-2008, 03:56 PM
Ellsbury leads off taking a ball and we're underway

Reds Fanatic
06-14-2008, 03:57 PM
Ellsbury singles to center.

RedlegJake
06-14-2008, 03:57 PM
Jacobo fouls one off 1-1, before bouncing a single into center right over the mound

RedlegJake
06-14-2008, 03:58 PM
Wild pitch. Ellsbury to 2nd. Way wild

RedlegJake
06-14-2008, 03:59 PM
Pedroia showed bunt before the WP, then shows bunt again on a ball. 2-0 count. Ground to short. Ellsbury holds on the play. 1 down.

Reds Fanatic

Steal 30 for Ellsbury and an error on Edwin. 1-0 Red Sox.

RedlegJake
06-14-2008, 04:00 PM
Stolen base and run when balls bounces off EE's glove. Bako gets error but it WAS on EE. 1-0 Boston

RedlegJake
06-14-2008, 04:01 PM
Very catchable throw. Unbelievable

RedlegJake
06-14-2008, 04:01 PM
Drew now with no one on, pops up to EE by dugout.

CTA513

The Reds really helped the Redsox out that inning.

RedlegJake
06-14-2008, 04:02 PM
Lowell lines to Dunn. Run is unearned

Reds Fanatic
06-14-2008, 04:03 PM
I am surprised they gave Bako that error. Edwin should have caught that ball.

RedlegJake
06-14-2008, 04:03 PM
EE continues to have problems at third base. I think he was looking to tag the runner before he saw where the throw was going then he couldn't recover in time. Just a bad play.

RedlegJake
06-14-2008, 04:04 PM
I am surprised they gave Bako that error. Edwin should have caught that ball.

Agree completely. That was on EE all the way

RedlegJake
06-14-2008, 04:04 PM
Now the Reds get to dance with Wakefield's knuckler as the flirty partner.

RedlegJake
06-14-2008, 04:05 PM
Pop up to third where Cora grabs it

RedlegJake
06-14-2008, 04:05 PM
Yanish up with 1 out. Paul's in slump and tries to bust it against Tim Knuckles. Fals back 0-2

RedlegJake
06-14-2008, 04:06 PM
Fly ball to center. 2 down.

RedlegJake
06-14-2008, 04:06 PM
1 for his last 20. Paul's proving his minor league numbers are no fluke.

RedlegJake
06-14-2008, 04:08 PM
Junior gets behind 1-2, manages to flick a foul, then a foul fly to right, then Ks. Hold still darnit! (Junior to ball)

The swarm of Sox fans at GAB is pathetic. It's probably close to a 50/50 split.

It is early but so far it looks like the Reds are going to struggle to hit that knuckler.

You're right on. No one out and safe at second with your sluggers up. You score most of the time. No need for that extra try. That is being stupid aggressive which really hurts this team as oppossed to smart aggresive.

RedlegJake
06-14-2008, 04:29 PM

The little pFX thing on the MLB Gameday site says that Wakefield is throwing nothing but knuckleballs. I know for a fact that Wakefield mixes in a little 80 MPH fastball too. Has he really been throwing nothing but knuckleballs (folks who are watching the game)?

jesusfan
06-14-2008, 04:39 PM
Wow... how did that ball hit the top of the wall?? Dunn really played it well too... Drew with the triple...

I hope the Reds have a player like Drew, a guy with serious opp. field thunder and a set of wheels to get to third on what by all rights should have only been a double.

I hope Bruce can become a player like Drew--that's a weapon my friends. And that's why they have a lead. The Reds before Bruce didn't possess that total package.

It just adds to the type of pitcher this team struggles against. Lefties, unknown rookies, pedestrian righties, star pitchers, former Reds and now, knucklers.

Great minds...and all that.
It's driving a lot of us nuts that Pedroia's still batting 2nd.

Yeah, Pedroia's a regular Larkin in that 2 slot: .673 OPS.

At least the Reds are forced by necessity to play Janish.

Well, when you have NO track record like Janish....

Yeah, he shouldn't be batting 2nd, but the Reds don't have any illusions that it's his defense that he's here.

Single. 4-2. Then a dumb rundown error by Votto. And the Reds are giving this game away. That's about 10 wins this year they've simply handed over. Now along blast past Bruce. But a great throw at the plate from Janish to get him OUT!
