Kyle Lotzkar struckout the first two batters to open the game. He then walked the third batter and it came back to haunt him. The next two batters followed with a single and 3-run homerun. He struckout the final batter of the inning to strikeout the side. Two out always come back to haunt.

I don't understand what happened. The MiLB recap says that the batter flew out to the second baseman, but that he was out at second base. Was anyone listening to the broadcast?

Anyone have the scoop on what kind of stuff Robert Manuel throws? He's breaking crap this year.

2-0 Billings after 1 1/2.

Stiffler: 1-for-1
Soto: 0-for-0 walk

Konstanty: 1-for-1

Janke: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K

Here's a description of the triple play:

Tony Brown flies into a triple play, second baseman Jacob Elmore to shortstop Reynaldo Navarro to left fielder Bobby Stone to third baseman Kyle Greene to second baseman Jacob Elmore. Neftali Soto scores. Carlos Mendez out at 3rd. Michael Konstanty out at 2nd. Tony Brown out at 2nd.

Maloney's recent trend continues. Good strikeout numbers, decent control, but wasting it all by giving up the longball. Today it was a two run shot in the fourth.

Thru 5 IP: 4 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 5 K

Also Jeff Keppinger doing what Jeff Keppinger does, he is 2 for 3 with a double. In Louisville he is 9 for 17 overall.

Does that description make any sense to you? I figure Brown flew out to the shortstop, who threw the ball into left field trying to make a double play. Then, all hell broke loose.

Is Duran on his way to becoming the next Biggio?

Have to say, there might be 2,000,000 reasons someone might try to hit him....

Impressive start so far for Duran. Nice to see him willing to take a walk despite being only 16 and facing older competition.

Impressive night for Waring as he went 3-for-4 with walk off homerun plus he walked three times.

It turns out three of those four runs against Lotzkar shouldn't have happened:

Trouble manifested itself in the first inning as starter Kyle Lotzkar appeared safely out of trouble following two strikeouts and a walk. Next came a miscommunication between shortstop Zack Cozart and left fielder Brandon Menchaca, allowing a shallow pop to drop safely between them. Naturally, the next Great Lakes batter Jaime Ortiz hit a homer for a 3-0 lead.

I saw that play

Cozart called off Menchacha but he somehow lost it. Im not sure if it was the sun or if he just took his eye off the ball.

He left Menchaca in no man's land on the play

Well, I think it's pretty obvious that they stopped playing by the rules of baseball and started playing kickball rules, whereas you can throw the ball wherever the hell you want and you'll probably force an out somewhere for no good reason.

Hence, the triple play. :D

Here's a better description:

Missoula turned a triple play in the top of the first inning to thwart what could have been a huge inning for the Mustangs. With the bases still loaded and none out and a run already in, Tony Brown hit a fly ball to left field that was dropped by Missoula's Bobby Stone. Stone was able to pick up the ball and throw to third base to force out Carlos Mendez and Missoula third baseman Kyle Greene fired to second base to force Konstanty for the second out. Meanwhile, Brown tried to advance from first to second and was tagged out by for the final out.

shortstop can't call off the OFer. The OFer can call off the shortstop

Part of the play right there.

The play also won a fan $10,000.

There was also a protest at the stadium.

Sounds like an interesting night at the ballpark.
