Interesting tidbit I found in Lance's blog.

A major-league scout saw Homer Bailey pitch in Louisville last week and said, "He was throwing 94 miles an hour batting practice fastballs. No movement. Gave up 10 hits, some to guys in the lineup who can't hit.
"Then he said in the paper the next day that he thought he pitched good," the scout said.

Who on earth throws batting practice at 94 mph?

Who on earth throws batting practice at 94 mph?

Pretty sure that was referring more to the lack of movement rather than the speed.

Which is strange because 2 starts ago, his fastball had some movement. I only watched an inning last night because I had some things to do, but he needs consistency and he will be fine. His stuff however is more inconsistent now than it was last year, which is very strange.

So he needs to find consistent with his stuff and learn how to locate it. Oh boy.

Hal McCoy loves Homer Bailey.

He loves to hate Homer. I understand that Homer is pitching like crap right now but Hal McCoy goes out of his way to write negative things on Homer. At least once a week he either take a shot at Homer on his blog or writes a scouts opinion on Homer in one of his columns.

No, when his stuff is consistent, so is the location. When its not, its all over the place.

Seriously, whether or not HB is a stiff or not at this point is almost beside the point with regard to McCoy's vindictiveness toward Bailey. Jaw-dropping in its intensity and doggedness at this point.

Plus, whenever McCoy wants to invent something......"A scout tells him......"

Top of the ninth, Louisville at Toledo, 6-3, two outs. Kevin Barker, last chance for the bats, hits a routine ball to the shortstop, but reaches first on a throwing error. Ryan Hannagan is walked. Now Adam Rosales is at the plate, and the mud hens are getting nervous. Blane O'neal, the pitcher throws a strike. Only two strikes away from victory. It looked like the Bats would end this five games back, and be in third place for the first time in months. O'neal throws the pitch, and Rosales HITS A ****ING HOME RUN, AND TIES THE GAME!!!

Nice to see for Rosales keeping up the hitting of late.

I agree with Roenicke deserving to be up in Cincy. What I'm intrigued about the most right now is the fact that McBeth has been doing very well of late. His pitching looked night-day of differences from when I saw him before his injury in April and his last few appearances (saw him last week). Very nice to see that.

Aguido Gonzalez is a 21-year old lefty from Maracay, Venezuela. After striking out four batters in one inning tonight he's now got a 0.00 ERA in 4.2 innings with only two hits allowed and a 2 BB/12 K ratio. He also threw four shutout innings for Sarasota earlier in the year. He could be a reliever worth watching.
