Shea Snowden......my 2009 minor league breakout player of the year in the Reds' farm system.

07-08-2008, 05:39 PM
I bet those day games in July in the DSL and the GCL are a real joy to participate in. I need a Gatorade just thinking about it.

07-08-2008, 05:45 PM
Snowden was drafted by the Reds in the 16th round last year out of a high school in Mississippi. He's only 6'1" 150 so he'll need to add some weight but he's pitched very good since signing last June. Last year in the GCL he posted a 3.51 ERA in 25.2 innings with a 5 BB/30 K ratio and so far this year has a 0.90 ERA and 4 BB/16 K ratio in 20 innings. And he's a lefty which is always a plus.

07-08-2008, 07:02 PM
Scott Carroll is pitching for Sarasota.

1-0 Sarasota in the first inning on a Todd Frazier RBI single.

07-08-2008, 07:06 PM
I will be taking in the Chattanooga game via the internet. Been about a week since I have listened to Larry Ward. I am convinced that he is better than a lot of major league announcers.

07-08-2008, 07:20 PM
Daryl Thompson strikesout the first two batters he faces. Next batter singles.

07-08-2008, 07:21 PM

Nice start so far for Jordan Smith against a tough lineup. I still think his future is as a power armed reliever in the major leagues.

07-08-2008, 08:28 PM
Sarasota down 5-2 in the 6th.

07-08-2008, 08:29 PM

The DSL Reds won 9-6.

Juan Duran went 0-for-3 with two walks and his 7th stolen base. He's in a 0-for-15 slump but is still drawing a great amount of walks for a 16-year old.

07-08-2008, 09:01 PM
Danny Dorn throws out a runner at home to end the top of the 6th inning. Lookouts still trailing 2-0.

07-08-2008, 09:06 PM
Daryl Thompson - 6ip, 6h, 2bb, 2K, 1ER. 5-1 Louisville lead.

07-08-2008, 09:07 PM
That should be Thompson's final line as he's over 100 pitches.

07-08-2008, 09:12 PM
Billings is about to get underway.

Alex Buchholz enters tonights game with a .362/.464/.511 - .975 OPS.

07-08-2008, 09:13 PM
Billings went down 1-2-3 in the first on what sounded like 2 very good plays on Buchholz and Means.

07-08-2008, 09:16 PM
Thompson has thrown 109 pitches through six innings but hit for himself in the top of the 7th. Surely they won't bring him back out for the 7th.

07-08-2008, 09:16 PM
Tom Gordon's son is batting leadoff for Ogden tonight against the Mustangs.

07-08-2008, 09:20 PM

07-08-2008, 10:55 PM

07-08-2008, 11:32 PM
I wonder if that's related to the Stubbs promotion

07-08-2008, 11:40 PM
